Hello again Freddie and Monica. The Autobianchi was really quite a popular car in Tenerife during the 90's. Maybe, if you're lucky, that won't be the only one you see still driving around here. Clarify that the sand of Playa del Duque is from the area. It was simply introduced from the interior of the sea towards the beach. The only beach with sand brought from outside (specifically from the Sahara) is Las Teresitas beach (in Santa Cruz). Electric car chargers are not yet as common on the island, as gas stations are. But they do exist in most shopping centers, paid parking lots and some for public use. The architecture of some of the hotels that you have been able to see in the Duque area is not German, it is Canarian architecture. I recommend you try the Dorada Especial (black label), it is much better than the Pilsen. Keep enjoying Tenerife. All the best.

Good vid, we are the owners of the Victory Bar just next to Pastios. Small typical little English Bar, great Dorada from our aircon cellar, only one in the area. A lot of expats, you should call in for the best Dorada in Tenerife. Keep up with your vids. Cheers Jo and Steve x

I like your enthusiasm for cars and bikes, I do the same , stop at all kinds of spots and just admire different vehicles. That's what happens when your a car and bike guy. Also like your appreciation for architecture in Tenerife, I do that too admire older buildings and wooden balconies etc. I'll be moving there in July, I love Tenerife so much. I also would like to say that Monika does a great job with the camera, very well done and I especially like her taste in music, such beautiful background music . Anyhow I'll keep watching , keep up the good work.

So Freddie, the Autobianchi A112 was Fiat Group's attempt at designing a 'bettered' Italian Mini, in the process moving from the old rear-engine, air-cooled, RWD design, to front+transverse engine, FWD Mini-esque modern idea, BUT with a tail gate!. This was in 1968-69, when the concept was still frowned upon by some of the management at Fiat. In reality the car proved to be technically excellent, quick, efficient, and with great road-handling: the same engine+systems were in fact adopted in 1971 by the new and revolutionary Fiat 127. The A112 car was a highly successful car which was extremely popular in Italy, as well as in some other selected export markets. In later years the car was badged as a Lancia in export markets. The Abarth-tuned version (which was a strong competitor to Cooper Minis) was very successful in rallyes and competitions. The A112 was a real hoot to drive...soooo much fun!

Not to be a geek, but I have a strong memory of when El Duke beach was being made, and even up to Torviscas, in the late 80 mid 90s ish, and the sand was dredge from out at sea and pumped on to the shoreline. Fond memory of sifting through the sand to find coral, shells etc.

Had a 797 Ducati monster, nice bike, air cooled, pretty reliable. The neutral issue at the start was irritating, took about 1200 miles for it to settle in. Unfortunately I wrote it off this summer, van pulled out in front of me. The only bike I like in their line up now is the Supersport 950S. I’d get another one, when VW Audi bought them in 2012 their reliability went up massively. The brand is directly under Lamborghini now, which in turn is owned by VW Audi as well.

Ok sorry to pick you up but that house is known as el duque castle was built by a Duke but bought then rebuilt (and is still owned) by the family that built and own all the Parque Santiago's in las Americas The house you refer to as Liz Taylor's is in Los Cristianos but again she never owned that or any other property in Tenerife..👍 It's just an urban myth.

I am not brand loyal but there really is something about Ducatis. My Mike Hailwood replica is my garage queen, only taking her out for special events and then there is the 999S….insane power and torque. My Multistrada 950S is the first civilized Ducati I have owned. I use it for long trips and it took getting used to because since…well…I found it quite different than the other Ducs I have owned which were always insane, never civilized. The most expensive service was replacing the belts. But I had mine done at the Duc dealer in Alicante which was about a third of the cost you pay in Northern Europe. Reliability excellent for all my Ducs.

Ducatis are very original and beautiful bikes, I think that bikes are reliable as long as you get them a proper maintenance, that is due to the desmodromic sistem and the fact that it is triggered by two timing belts. You got the history of Abarth/Fiat/Autobianchi/Lancia wrong. But I still like you channel. Fiat and Abarth had lot of cooperation before this A 112. This car was sold as a Lancia in many parts of the world. Abarth and Fiat made cars together since 1949. Autobianchi startet in 1955 and had cars based on FIAT technology with the Bianchina and other models. The A112 is based on the Fiat 127 technology. My friend in the trade used to say that Ducati engines are close to death once they reach 20K. Newer ones may be better though.

That is extremely interesting!!

My Ducati has done 44K and Ive owned it about 10 years with no major problems thankfully because getting spares can be an issue. Most new Ducatis are soleless though.

Another great vlog thank you both. Freddie, is Harleys bar still there in torviscas? If so it might be worth a look, and maybe a little vid. Kind regards

@@FreddieDobbs it's a tgi type place with some old American cars outside and a couple of Harley's inside
@richardbartlett69323 жыл бұрын
Just to add a bit of drama Harley's was originally owned by John Palmer who's cars they were and apparently the engines etc are still in a lockup in the south. Palmer had a lot of American vehicles including Harley's scattered in various garages all over the island up till his untimely death All this was way before my time so I cannot personally confirm or deny this btw
