I'm a certified scuba diver and I have a Certina DS Action diver and it's spectacular! The Certina brand is a real diver's diver watch and at under $1000 I have no problem scuba diving with it. I can't say I would do the same with an Omega diver.

I love this watch - big, bright and tooly. You can still get old versions from the 70s but the newer reissues were/are hard to get. Hopefully that will change now.

I was lucky enough to find a good example of a vintage Certina DS with the Turtle back. This particular caseback I refer to as the "steel pan" bc it resembles the West Indian steel drum surrounding the Tortise. Certain brands put alot of thought into caseback design and I appreciate that. I wouldn't dive with it now but I'd love to grab one of these, though still collecting vintage DS models. Oh yeah it came on a great old bonklip bracelet. Good review 👍🏼

Picked up the black version and wow! Also look at the Mido ocean start divers 600 chronometer si. both of these are 100% better tan my sea dweller on a dive by performance. Great review!

Man, I love this watch!! I can't decide between this watch and the Tissot Seastar 2000 in teal. The Certina has the heritage in diving but I can get over the wave dial on the Tissot. I can't choose!

One cool thing most people probably won’t notice is the reflection of the second hand on the side - looks like a little dot floating around in a circle. Not sure if that’s intentional but cool nonetheless.

Certina does not offer a steel bracelet to this great watch. I have no idea why. And my shark mesh does not look good because the drilled holes in the lugs are too low. Maybe an orange zulu, maybe… Or I pass. But the watch is really great.

I dislike watches that have more area under bezel and outer racetracks than under the hands. The part under the sweep area of the hands is, to me, where the content, the information, is delivered. It’s like when you’re dining at a fancy restaurant and you’re presented with your entree, and the food is in a tiny round space in the middle of a plate that’s mostly ‘rim’, or border. I see what you’re doing there. Accordingly, I suggest a new metric for watches be added. In addition to case dia, thickness, L2L, lug width, we need to add ‘swept ratio’ : the ratio of area swept by the longest hand divided by the total area within the outside of the bezel. Now, I accept that for those who dive, the bezel does convey important information, and for them, this additional metric I propose won’t be useful to them.

got my 39mm with the white dial on the 3-link "Bader" bracelet watch on amzwatch 3 weeks ago and am loving it to pieces. Absolute fantastic watch that wears super comfortable on my 6.75 inch wrist. Chose the 3-link over the 5-link bracelet for the toolless quick adjustment. Way more comfortable than my Longines Hydroconquest 41 mm.

Dive watches are often quite colorful, but color behaves differently underwater. Colors with longer wavelengths penetrate less the deeper you go. For example, red fades around 15 feet. Orange begins to fade at 25 feet, while yellow makes it to 45 feet, and green holds strong up to 75 feet. As you dive deeper, these colors tend to turn gray. The color is for good looks on the surface. Underwater, you’re going for clarity.

Just guessing, maybe you didn’t realize that the bezel has a protection system that holds it in place so it won’t turn accidentally and you turn it despite it being locked ?
