As a thai american who had traveled to Thailand recently, I truly suggest trying: “hoi tohd” which is a fried oyster pancake, “pad kra pow” typically minced pork/chicken with fried egg and rice, grilled squid from any food stand (typically my favorite! the sauces most stands use are delicious!), “ba thang ko” fried donuts with condensed milk, fried banana, “kanom krok” pan made coconut cakes that are super light and yummy! honestly walking through the streets of bangkok and finding local restaurants make the experience better for food and environment, so give that a try as well! I'm Thai and I used to eat at that McDonalds all of the time. Glad that you guys get to try the local menus. There's also a Carl's Jr.(Hardees) + Mos Burger near that area. Just in case you got bored of Thai food.
