Thank you for sharing your secrets regarding effective practice. Here are tips from Heifetz - First do mental study with music. Pick all the passages you are afraid of and practice those daily. And of course prsctice the scales. Thirds first. Watch your fingers while you practice. Look at the music before you go to bed for the memory.

Wow! This was eye opening! I started using this in my practice emphasizing the quickness of preparation and it worked like wonders. Thanks! Here is a video idea: a series on pieces you enjoy playing? Sort of similar to your video on the Ysaye. Would love to hear your thoughts and interpretations on different pieces!

He speaks English better than many native speakers (including a former president of the United States). And English is probably not even his first language. We can learn about a lot more than violin playing from this man. How about just observing his discipline and self control - qualities that are generally missing in western culture these days.

You talk like practice is some sort of terrible job you have to do quickly so you can do more enjoyable things. I live to practice and never get enough time no matter how much I plan and organize my time. I guess that’s the difference between being young and being old. My time is precious and I would rather play/practice than watch Netflix any day.

Older people don't understand young people. Why is that so surprising? It's ok. We don't need to understand each other but that doesn't mean that you shouldn't be nice to us. We are all human and work in different ways. So maybe next time you want to write a message make sure it's something kind and positive.

@@Ciaccona255 could you explain how my comment was in any way unkind or negative? It was not directed at any age group, just an observation about the difference of attitude toward practicing at different ages. I was young and hated practicing, now I’m old and love it. How is that something unkind? Perhaps if you read my comment with a kind tone of voice you’ll hear it that way too.

@@kyotosunsetdreams6105 Hopefully, you too will be old one day. Your name seems to indicate you dream of your sunset years. Not everyone lives long enough to be told by the younger generations to shut up.
