I wasn’t that mad that utley broke tejada’s leg, but it was crazy that utley never touched second, ran back to the dugout, and then was called safe. Should’ve been a double play due to interference (no intent to touch second), but instead no outs were recorded. Thank god the Mets won that series anyway.

Chase Utley is a great example of how people LOVE to throw stones. Dude definitely made a mistake for that slide, but people have been forgiven for worse things lmao. And he played hard as hell. SDS always talks about batting averages being high for perfect perfects but they never discuss the batting average on perfect perfects that don’t result in home runs. I would dare to say it’s around .350-.400 which is incredibly low…

Well that would probably be expected because perfect perfects aren’t supposed to be only for home runs. Perfect perfect ground balls and line drives aren’t meant to be home runs.

@@zachgrenga4705 this is true, but they should still be base hits nonetheless. Not *every* perfect-perfect should be a base hit, as it depends on pitch location and exact pci placement, but the best timing (perfect) should result in the best results the most
