George was in one of their movies. The one that financed with the help from his house!
@tygrkhat40872 жыл бұрын
@@christopherfletcher5384 Yes, EMI had a contract to produce "Life of Brain," but reneged at the last moment. Python eventually won a settlement from them, but still needed financing. So George mortgaged his house, formed Handmade Films and produced the movie. His reason? He want to see the picture. Eric Idle called it the most expensive cinema ticket ever. All the Beatles loved Python, but there were opinions on the Idle and Innes's side project, the Rutles. George participated in it; Ringo liked it, except for moments that echoed the sadder times; supposedly Paul initially didn't like it, but Linda did; and John reputedly refused to return the copies of the film and soundtrack they were given to preview.

Keith Moon was insane but is an all-time great drummer. He was once doing an interview in a restaurant in Ohio that overlooked the Ohio River. Without a word of warning Keith got up, ran across the room and jumped out of a window into the river. He then clamored up the bank, came back into the restaurant, sat down and continued speaking as if nothing had happened.

I had a piece of jewellery made by Paul Ravn who was Emerson, Lake & Palmer's personal jeweller. His workshop was in the same building as the studio where The Who and Led Zeppelin used to practice. He told me that one morning he was in early working and wasn't expecting anyone. The doorbell rang and Paul asked "Who is it?" Ringing the doorbell was Keith Moon who answered with "Who." Once again, Paul, "who is it?" Keith - "Who." This went on until he finally opened the door and saw it was The Who. They'd been at the pub across the street and came over to mess with Paul. 😂 He called Paul, "The Engravy" because he was working on engraving the drum kit for Carl Palmer.

There was virtually nobody else in the public bar. They ordered drinks and sat quietly in a corner. I think i made a joke about Keith not breaking the pub, to which he grinned but his minder gave me a look that could have killed me 😁 He was relaxed that night. They left after one round of drinks. It was an interesting pub. The band The Sweet came in several times during one week as they were recording the album / song 'Love is like Oxygen'. Them and their road crew pretty much took over the public bar. They were all pretty good guys. I wasn't a fan of their music though 😎😊
