I had the fantastic privilege to visit (and rent!) from Dave's shop today. Took the whole family; it was my 15yo son's first ever visit to a video rental shop.

@JustTheDiscs our daughter has just moved near there, so hoping to visit as often as we can now it's just up the road from her!

I remember going to HMV on Oxford Street and Fopp at Leicester Square when I visited London last year. They carried a lot of CDs and movies

Well actually 🤓 Netflix has a huge selection of older movies, BUT they are available only for handful of countries (I'm lucky enough to live in one of those). They have huge selection of Studio Canal movies that includes wide selection of old French, Spanish, Italian, German, Benelux and British films. But non of the "big" countries have them - Studio Canal has either made a exclusive deal with some another service or sublicensed their catalog to another label in those countries. Also Netflix has large selection of Scandinavian films (old & new), but I'm guessing they may have same kind of rights issues or deals limiting availability. But in this age of technology you can become a VPN tourist and check out what is available in other regions and find some gems. Altho it should not be this way.

At the moment can only speak to what they have available in the US & it’s not much in terms of older films
