*About Abdelaziz El Aroui:*
Born on December 17, 1898, in Monastir, Tunisia, and passed away in 1971, Abdelaziz El Aroui was a Tunisian journalist and radio personality. He gained fame for the traditional stories he narrated in the Tunisian dialect. Some of these stories were later adapted for television under the title "From the Tales of Abdelaziz El Aroui" and are still occasionally aired on Tunisian TV.

Abdelaziz El Aroui was born in Monastir and completed his primary education there before moving to the capital to continue his studies at the Sadiki College. After graduation, he briefly worked as a clerk in business administration before turning to journalism. He managed the printing press and newspaper Ennahda in 1927 and 1928, and later launched the French-language newspaper Le Croissant Tunisien in 1930. For many years, he also contributed to the newspaper Petit Matin (*Small Morning*).
El Aroui was a member of the Taht Essour literary circle, which played a pivotal role in advancing Tunisian literature before World War II. He joined Tunisian Radio as an editor and presenter when it was established in 1938, serving briefly as its director in 1946 and again in 1956. He remained active in broadcasting until his passing.
Renowned for his storytelling and theatrical contributions, El Aroui dedicated his life to preserving Tunisian folklore. He meticulously collected, refined, and narrated stories that were at risk of being forgotten over time. His legacy is tied to the traditional tales he passionately shared, many of which have been immortalized on television.
