I just bought a black 2009 FJR with less then 20000 miles, cruises easily at 80 to 85, fifth gear, I'm 6'2 230lbs very happy with it, paid $5000

You say it cruises well at 80-85ish I currently have a 65hp Honda NT700 Deauville and she does cruise effortlessly at 80-90 I'm looking for a 2016+FJR with the 6th gear, CC electronic suspension etc Can she cruise on 110-115mph without effort even with only 5 gears?
@cookielover1018TMАй бұрын
I believe in safety especially riding in the wind, I have a Victory Cross Country when cruising over 90mph, because it is heavier, smoother and can handle wind, safe riding

Great video. I've been looking at various FJRs, and I'm leaning towards the 2016 or newer. This video really helped make up my mind. Thanks for your great reviews and impressions, very helpful.

This is a fantastic motorcycle. I've owned several FJRs including a 2016 A model (no electronic suspension). IMHO the FJR is the yardstick by which all motorcycles should be measured. Rock solid reliable, comfortable and wicked fast.

I went from an '03 ST1300 to a '13 FJR last summer, the bike is amazing even as a 5 speed. The cruise control is great, the torque make easy to be lazy if you want and if you drop the surprisingly heavy panniers and kick it into sport mode it's a real good time!

Sure, the dash looks old (But very visible both day and night), style hasn’t changed since 2012 (but so as pretty much its competitors), and BMW/KTM has whole bunch of the latest techs (they better, otherwise it’s no competitions vs this bike). This bike is the best touring bike in the market that I do not own. I must give credit to where credit is due - Yamaha knows what they are doing.

Yeah it’s a bit antiquated but still a solid layout. They are missing out by not making a Gen 4 I believe. Adventure bikes don’t ride like these do.

I been looking at the FJR 1300 as a possible second bike. 👍

I ride a st1300 but a lot of bits are now failing as they stopped making them in 2013 and mine is 2008 the bike gets very hot and the coolant hoses were brittle and had to be changed. I heard the fjr has smaller panniers but the pluses are noticeable. Clear easy read dash. looks great without panniers. is faster. doesnt get as hot. easy to work on. softer clutch. gear indicator. electronic suspension. foldable mirrors great for filtering without panniers. full led light set. 6th gear. cruise control. what a beast. honda moved to the new gl1800 but they are crazy money my next bike will be a FJR1300 2018

Hey brother, thanks for the review. I’m thinking about purchasing one of these. Was there any vibration running at 75 to 80 mph?
@BlackRiverRider9 ай бұрын
Nothing that I can remember. It was very smooth overall. I’m used to a punchy parallel twin though that makes a lot of vibration so your mileage may vary.

Sat on 1 today at the dealer...im a big guy 6'3 280 and I felt more comfortable on this fj than the concourse or the bush. I walked in there looking at a zx14 but I can't do the clip on bars ..im really thinking about the fjr..

@@nealbeard1 by the industry and consumers in comparison to newer bikes. Its appeal is waning due to not being updated but it's still an amazing machine that deserves more attention is basically all I'm saying.
