Just visited Matera two weeks ago and I was speechless (in addition to being breathless from all the climbing and walking). Really a stunning city and your video portrays it perfectly. Thanks for revealing it to me, before I actually visited it.

Visited Matera approx 15 years ago when Mateta was still mostly abandoned but on the brink of revival. It was beautyfull, part deserted part bustling with life.

Matera is amazing. It's a really '3D' city when you look at it, and no photos or videos can do it justice. Also, I had my best meal in Italy there (and that's saying something!)
@MemorySeekers2 жыл бұрын
Where was the meal? We plan to go back at some point and I would like to pin it on the map to look it up!

@@MemorySeekers it was Osteria Pico. The antipasto was fantastic, and already a meal in itself.

Those aren't tuctucs, they are "Piaggio" "Ape". Piaggio is the same maker of "Vespa". Ape meaning bee and vespa meaning wasp. They were especially designed for Italian narrow and steep streets. Piaggio Ape are iconic. They were used to transport almost everything especially for small businesses or merchants 🙂

Did you come on a cruise? I ask because you said you didn’t have much time here. I’m going on a cruise and we stop in Bari. Any idea how difficult it is to get there from Bari? I’m only in port for 6 hours.
@MemorySeekers2 жыл бұрын
No we were touring in a car for 10 days. I would ima get you can get a taxi there it would take one hour though, and I expect it would be around 70 to 100 euros each way! Quite a lot for not much time in the town.
