Hey molten, I was the one in the pretty baby, I was actually in both games. In the first game I was out of position, I try to play as an aggressive support LRM platform sometimes I get left behind trying to keep up with the team when they nascar. I was stupidly trying to stop your push and assist our slower heavies but there was no stopping that, it was well done and well coordinated. The second game I would first like to say that I appreciate you actually taking note that I wasn't a brawler in that configuration. In so many games I have had team mates line up behind me that I put "LRM BOAT" in neon blue on the back of my mech to help distinguish that to less observant players who are out of position behind a missile boat. That second game I was running behind you guys at the front at full speed as close as I could while staying out of fire and maintaining a firing angle. The problem arose when we ran through the enemy line exposing our back to some remnants of the enemy team. I was still at full speed and I continued to push with the team. A full 1.5 rotations around that hill I was set upon by a light that finally did me in. I build my mechs as fast as I can make them while remaining effective that one tops out at 64.5. Again as an aggressive LRM platform I like to be near the front lines. I do think it's important not to leave your assaults and secondary line behind. Effective use of your team's composition is important or you won't be fighting at full strength. It's important to change your strategy accordingly, snipers and missile boats can either be a great boon or dead weight if they aren't taken into consideration. Honestly I wasn't the least bit upset when I finally got taken down, I had done my job and I got assassinated at the end before anyone could have reacted. I do think that it is worth pointing out what I was able to accomplish in a push that aggressive in a mech that has to take a wider berth to use its weapon systems (tbh I was hoping you would point that out in the score screen). I just want to point out that sacrificing your slower mechs is a dangerous gamble one that lost us the match in the first game against your push and won us the game in the latter example. My personal preference is to not boat LRMs in anything heavier than a Catapult (65t). The Pretty Baby can be ok with some LRM harassment, but the Awesome's side torsos are HUUUUUUGE.

You have no idea how often a suicide 'rush' works in a heavy/assault mech in PUGS. You should see my Annihilator suicide charges to delay a flank. Too slow to reposition so I distract the enemy skirmishers long enough for my main force to deal with that they are doing. Taking 3 mechs out of the fight can really be the difference between winning and losing. You did a good job suicide charging instead of repositioning slowly behind the team unable to get your guns in the fight for the remainder of the game.

Vindicator... I remember the assassination mission in MW2 Mercs where you had to murder a guy in a Vindicator. It was a beer can in terms of armour and went down faster than a dollar ho's knickers.

I got a great kill wit my VND-1AA last night. There was a Battlemaster firing PPCs at us in Rubellite Oasis. I finally locked him and discovered he was boating only Light PPCs. So, I snuck my way around the behind him and started shooting. He moved to try and get back to range, so I pushed him and stayed under 90m the whole time. It took a while, but I got him.

Drop MRM 40 to MRM 20 and change to LE 235 for more endurance. Plus almost max to leg armour! =P Or just down to MRM 30 and get 2 tons of ammo.

I love my Vind-1AA. It is mobile and nicely quirked. My only issue with the Vindicators is their size. I seem to draw more fire in my Vindicator than I do in my other mediums because the thing is the size of a lot of heavies. If they were a little smaller I think they would be a lot more effective.

all the vindicators get amazing armor quirks!! sadly the 1x is the only one I can never get a build that works. Probably one of the few that actually touch these on a regular basis.

Bigbacon My 1x is my actual favorite mech. Try an MRM30 and some spls and mgs, and you can fit a standard engine. With some decent torso twisting to protect your left torso, you can stay in the fight for a really long time! Give that a try.

After seeing this video i went back and looked at mine . I had a xl220 in and it was setp with 3lmgs,heavy ppc, mrm20, erml. I seitched it up to the mrm40, 3lmgs, and 2 mpls and it seemed much better.

Hmmm... Baradul, have you made a video about Highlander IIC Keeper with four LRM15's, two LBX10's, targeting computer one, tag, active probe, four extra heatsinks, AMS and maximum engine? I skilled mine with all missile, velocity ballistics ammo, structure, armor, enhanced AMS and target decay nodes, one LBX-spread, 80% radar derp, one extra consumable for one coolshot and artillery strike and... Some extra that just came along. Works like a charm for me, gor my first five kills on it... Except when I get killed thanks to a slow max movement speed and my bad map reading/situational awareness, a.k.a

killerra Have to disagree! I have been driving it for 3 months and it is my favorite mech ever. Also my most successful stat-wise. The MRM launcher with high ROF deals a crapton of damage. And it is nearly invincible. Very good mech.

Used to run the 1X as a lb10x build before the civtech release. All of the Vindis are decent if you know how to play them. The arm mounts do suck, but if you can compensate for them, there's a lot of quirks that work in their favour.

most mechs with low hanging arms are pretty annoying at time. the vindicators also seem to stick way out to the side.

Vindi arms don't feel too splayed out to me. Once in a while I catch a building by accident, but generally I find them better than most mechs. The Centurion, Trebuchet, and Victor are examples that feel very splayed out to me with a similar body style.

Styxx Rivers I honestly don't mind them tinkering with quirks. If this were Battletech TT then, yeah, but to counter balance issues with Mech dimensions and hitboxes and to ultimately make Mechs viable, tinkering is ultimately necessary. Just look at the Uziel- an awesome looking Mech that is true to its source material, but how that ultimately translates into MW games is not straightforward. They'll be adjusting hitboxes and quirks for a while to make it work.
