Alan Farmer here. ( formerly 27 years owner Car Audio Shop Howick) Well done young man, you are quite knowledgeable, and have impressed me. Could not fault your approach or your suggested solutions. Like your attention to grounding points. Wait until you get someone who thinks aluminium tape is good to insulate their twisted wire DIY install !

I have had to clean up a much worse install than this. Ive seen power wire and RCAs ran under the floor mats and speaker wire used as grouding wire for a sub amp.

Don't say that ... Beacuse most of the messes I've fix was from people who taught they knew better . And did it themselves lmao 😂

Looks like the main thing is not using a dash kit for fit. They tried filling the gaps with wood, then wrapped it to make it uniform. And no harness used either. All that stuff helps avoid lots of problems when installing. That said, I've seen much much worse. I've seen a ford truck where they had the dash kit and didn't even use it under the panel, they used self tap screwed right into the dash trim and it was all totally visible. Ty also used twist on wire caps for all the connections lol

does the reverse camera of the caldina co-exist with the stock stereo? when i remove the stock stereo, does the reverse camera get removed as well?

Hey James, I know this is an older video. But I was wandering if the customer actually even bothered to come out to the install bay and at least half care their car was a rolling fire hazard before you started reversing the damage some two bit hacker did.

Car audio seems to be this way. Each installer "cleans" something for money but never makes a full fix because they allow the customer to rush them. Just tell them you can do all or nothing and give them their car/truck back with it not working

I used to get so pissed when I was doing this for a living and people would bring in rigged bullshit like this, Ive seen wires held together with metal garbage bag ties, pieces of paper wrapped around wire and then ziptied, wired hot glues together and all sorts of ridiculous bullshit...I even had a kid one day who tried installing an amplifier himself and had a clay put filled with dirt because his dad told him he needed a ground to earth...I wish I was kidding about the pot of dirt, but sadly its the gods honest truth

You are right, who ever did the installments did such a lousy job when it comes to the wiring. If Grayer Auto & Cycle Accessories (acgstereoman here on KZbin) had something to say about this messy install, he would say this to the public loud and clear "IF YOU HAVE NOT BEEN EXTENSIVELY TRAINED IN THIS, DO NOT ATTEMPT IT" because you can catch someone's vehicle on fire or cause extensive damage to someone's vehicle. This does not include you (DJGoProCarAudioGuy) since you are in the car audio business and are well extensively trained. If they are that stupid and can't install car audio electronics in a vehicle without making a big mess out of things then they have no business doing this kind of work period!
