Maybe already answered many times before but would you consider continuing these into the lower/ much lower pedal notes a beneficial practice?

Today I noticed that I was neglecting my tongue position for the notes in the middle range. In fact, I have found that the sound can be produced in this position without any problems even if the tongue does absolutely nothing, i.e. just lies there. This is just pure laziness. In fact, probably only beginners play this way. So today I set myself the task of finding out which tongue position creates the best sound and causes the least effort when playing during the tones (they are long enough for that). I currently favor a position where the tip of the tongue touches the lower incisors. The rest of the tongue forms an air channel with as little resistance as possible, which leads the air directly through the tooth gap to the lips. It is also clear that the higher the tones, the higher the back of the tongue should be. This is part of the basic knowledge for trumpeters. I find this conscious work with the tongue interesting and believe that it will bring me a lot. So I'll definitely stick with it. With which tongue position do you play the long tones?

I'm interested in Bryan's answer to this one as I'm very negligent about tongue position.....I never really think about it...
