Hogan's thoughts on a wrestling union are very insightful. The points he raises are very valid.

no matter what anyone says, hulk has said some pretty egomaniacal things, but the point is this:- kids and adults LOVE HULK HOGAN. The timing for his rise to fame was done EXACTLY at the right time. Its exactly the same as Stone Cold Steve Austin. Both these guys came in at the right time, really, what makes them both such big stars is that everyone from young or old can relate to. thats the key to it.

Technically Hogan-Rock at WM 18 was the "main event" of that match. I don't care what match when on last, THAT was the match everybody paid to see.

@kingbrandor I agree about the look too , his look is about as iconic in wrestling as supermans look is in comic books.

A union in wrestling would be completely ridiculous. It eliminates any incentive for the guys to get over, because, based on the strength of their union and the nature or their deal, they would be getting paid no matter how 'over' they are or how well they perform. These guys working in WWE and likely even TNA are making a good living. Just because they can't save and spend their money wisely doesn't mean the wrestling business is taking advantage of them.

Union's will only work in Pro Wrestling if the guys at the top were willing to help the guy's at the bottom. If Vince threatens to fir a Jobber, guys like Orton and Cena are willing to drop whatever title they are holding and walk out with them.

The only discrepancy would be that the matches are pre-determined, if that was all wrestling was about, than they should all get an even amount, but it's not...They could pay them all an "x" amount, and whoever sold more merchandise would get more commission, that would be the only fair way of doing it, but you could also make an argument against that..By saying that some wrestlers are flaunted or promoted more than others, and I'm sure they've already went over these same ideas, so? who knows.

Hogan was supposed to lose the match at SS in a "Face vs. Face" match but didn't like that idea. So he had HBK turn heel so the angle would have a classic storyline. Hogan was supposed to job twice to HBK in return, but before the SS match, he said his knee was acting up and he wouldn't be able to work another match. So HBK was angry Hogan had used politics to get a victory and never job to him.

Here's what TNA needs to do, stop caring about McMahon and the WWE being #1 and worry about putting on the best show they can put on. Base the company on good athletic performance and give the fans a true alternative to what McMahon is doing. Everybody running TNA is to concerned with bumping off McMahon, just worry about doing a good show.

Going to TNA was based the fact that Vince didn't want Hogan in the WWE

Risk reward system? All jobs should have that? People wouldn't have to work 2-6 hours of unpaid overtime because they have to. I remember the twice on saturday twice on sunday. There were ads for them all the time up until the mid 90s. If Hogan NEEDED to be a face and Kidman NEEDED to be a heel, I'd say with Kidman's size, he should have had a few big bodyguards and masterminded matches to be 3 on 1 then get the pin and be a bastard. Then Hogan gets his 1 on 1 win eventually.

@Rayla840 I can agree that he is not really doing much for Tna , I am not even so sure he is running anything there now , other then making allot of suggestions . I do admit that i like seeing him on the show though . The main reason I think that he does not draw many ratings for the show is that the bigger half of modern wrestling fans today did not grow up watching him . WWE at least would know how to use him right in a role that his is playing now as a non wrestler .

Michaels will tell you a different story on why there was no rematch.. Hogan showed up once and then to the PPV and demanded to go over at summerslam and left HBK to carry the whole storyline on RAW and, to a great extent, carry the match too when all Hogan had to do was show up on RAW once, then drop the leg at summerslam and pick up his check.

@Rayla840 I can agree , I have said for along time that he has over exposed himself . He should of kept his apperances limited and he may of drew more interest towards tna when he joined . I loved his old promos though lol , his mic skills arent as good as they once were in my opinion .

they don't need a union, they sorta need what the NFL has, which is an association, in this case it would be a wrestlers association, so if they did feel like they weren't being treated fairly or if they thought, they weren't getting enough commission off of merch, then they could fairly protest against..It's obviously working for the NFL, how many times have they went on strike?? once that I know of in 20 yrs...and none of those guys get paid evenly, some make 10million/yr, some make $300,000..

Hogan is the reason why there is not a union in wrestling. Jesse ventura tried unionizing wrestling but Hogan told Vince, which circumvented ventura from unionizing. WHen hogan pissed on ventura, it was when Hogan was making the most money out of everyone. If it was unionized, hogan would be getting the same low pay as everyone, that is why Hogan didnt want a union, because hes soooo shrewed.

Sorry Brother. Hogan vs. The Rock was the Main Event. 80 000 people sat on their hands for the next 2 matches. Even HHH and Jericho have come out of it saying That was the main event. More People paid to see that match than any other match on the card. Brother!

I remember the Kidman thing... it was ridiculous, even at 60 Hogan was still twice as big as Kidman... That and the shit Russo was saying about Hulk... Just disrespectful... I saw an interview with Kidman and Kendrick, and i'm damn glad neither of them ever made it, they're a couple of disrespecful pricks who deserved it as much as Marc Mero did. Although i think Hogan should be retired by now, I can see where he's coming from and have the greatest respect for him.

1:20 "The WWE usually call me around the time of WrestleMania time because they need a main event" .... WHATTTTTTT???? Hogan's been apart of 2 WrestleMania's in 11 years lol Neither were apart of the main event. I don't care what anyone says, (yes Rock-Hogan WM18 stole the show) but it wasn't the main event. Unless you're in that last match its not the main event. I'm not dissing Hogan, personally I like him and want to see him at this years mania but his so full of it.

Haha the thing is all these wrestlers think they know about the business and basically act like a promoter , trying to work backstage, story , but they don't! They aren't Mcmahon who was able to create stars out of nobody's and other wrestlers, but few promoters like Vince know how to make a successful promotion !!

i wish hogana wasn't sooo full of shit so i could like him. the story with shawn michaels is that shawn lost for hogan but hogan never wanted to lose for michaels to put him over which was the right thing to do since shawn is the younger one and was the full timer in the company at that time. hogan just came for couple shitty matches to collect some cash and then leave.

Well HOGAN!!, Sorry but you are doing the very thing you said you wouldn't. You are using the OLD GUYS!!, and your still using scripts with that clown Russo.. So I think for TNA's sake, you should pack your bags and hit the road. You was the greatest, but now you and Ric Flair is an embarresment..

Hogan talks so much shit it's not even funny. He'll always be about himself. He talks about "healthcare" meanwhile he was the one who ratted Jesse Ventura out to McMahon in the 80s when Ventura was trying to rally a healthcare plan for wrestlers in the locker room. I hope he sinks. I love TNA but he's just going to create a shitty version of the late 90s WCW.
