I remember i attended a breakfast meeting in Pretoria around 2015 he gave a very compelling presentation on how he is going to phaseout old electricity billing system with prepaid system and how its going to pay itself over time, we were excited. Later we found out that the tender budget to provide prepaid meters by Siemens was ballooned by over 1000% percent the money was finished before the project was completed all happened under him. SO I AM NOT CONVINCED!

The biggest problem at ESKOM is corruption - and corrupt officials. That should be paramount! It's of no use trying to fix loadsheddibg when these corrupt officials, employees and "suppliers" are still eating! If law enforcement is corrupt, whom does one trust? The plan has been published in the form of the Energy Action Plan and is available for anyone to read. If Samkele had read that, he wouldn’t have needed to do an interview.
