Another inconsistency: Usopp says, that the cat can't hurt them, since it may be a illusion, after Nami brought up the Absinth. BUT Usopp was already in the mouth of the cat, so he should know, that this isn't true. Feels like "Usopp" wants to misdirect Nami.

I believe the missing straw hat and wrong naming of Luffy’s attack are the most in the face hints that something went wrong. I’ll wait for the next chapter, let’s see what Oda sensei prepared for us. I believe that the Luffy we see is a fake. Not only is his straw hat gone, messed up a move name AND PASSED ON FOOD. All of these things never happened before in the entirety of one piece. So I think someone who knows about him is impersonating him. Credits to GrandLineReview

This was a nice surprise. Please do continue doing these, I didn't notice ANY of these inconstancies upon first reading. Yeah, either Nami's tripping, Loki's somehow involved, or Oda's kicking his teeth in for all the possible art errors. And yeah, I think as readers we can forget most pro manga artists have teams behind them while still doing the bulk of the drawing themselves. As an artist myself, I too forget details I meant to draw so I feel for Oda if this was the case.

For the record, Yggdrasil, the World Tree is taken directly from Norse mythology. In Norse myth this tree's branches carry the 9 realms of all existence. The top of the tree rests in Asgard, the kingdom of the Norse gods. I expect a LOT more Norse myth references to pop up this arc.

A more obscure reference I noticed in this chapter is that the royal cat-lion look very similar to the lions on the Swedish coat of arms. And even more obscure I also think it look similar to the taxidermy mess that is the Gripsholm lion, but thinking that Oda was inspired by that is mostly me hoping he googled “Swedish lion” laughed his ass of and put it in the manga.

Bigstein is a combination word of the english word Big and the Norwegian word Stein wich means rock, Oda literally named the Castle Big Rock Castle. (Also you pronounce yggdrasil like Y-gg-dra-seel)

Also a tip on how to pronounce norwegian Y is to english e while shaping your lips for an u. Though for ease of pronounciation: igg (as in iggy) - dra - seel Some slight rolling r in there, and the L at the end is more tip-of-the-tongue just behind your teeth, instead of the flat.

Here's my stupid theory on the "sun god" they're talking about- it's Prometheus. They're referring to him as the Sun God because that's the naming convention they use on this island for some reason (why else is a rabbit called an ear god). He was shown to be kinda... lecherous and self centered on Wano and I think he ran off after BM kicked the bucket. He's a part of her soul so there's some connection to Elbaf baked in there and it's near proximity means Prometheus could have ran off there and set up shop to live a cushy life. He's gonna get spotted by the crew and end up reconnecting with his brother in their new home, Nami's climate baton. Gives Nami a power-up and has some good opportunity for humor

My theory is that Nami is in a giant kid’s room/playground All the animals are common kid pets (hedgehog, rabbit, cat), the houses are made of Lego, and we have no context at the moment for there being a wider land outside of the few houses we’ve seen. Similar to the Tontatta during Dressrosa, I think Oda is pulling from Gulliver’s Travels. That story features Gulliver being treated like an oddity and living in what’s effectively a dollhouse in a land of giants. (Also a bit where he fights off a few giant wasps, which aren’t too far off from the bees we see here.)

Also the layout of the Monster Trio (or presumed so) defeating the Big Lion has the excat same layout as chapter 162 where they defeat the Big Lizard in the Shandola desert in Alabasta: the three charging the attack on the right, the impact frame in the center and the shocked reaction of Nami and Usopp on the left. The only one missing is Vivi...possible reunion? (pretty please Oda?)

I think the Monster Trios attacks on the Lion King being a parallel to their combo in Alabasta on the desert lizards could be the source of the illusions drawing from Nami’s memory’s as well.

A personal theory I have is not that they’re being messed with the Norse God Loki, but instead the Giant Utgard Loki. Who is a giant himself and also a massive trickster. In one story he was able to mess around with both Thor and Loki and challenged them to what sounded as easy competition between people who had similar names to them. There’s a better video explaining this by Overally Sarcastic Studios here on KZbin that you can easily watch for yourself as it’ll explain it better then I can but it’s an interesting possibility that it’s not the traditional Loki we know but the giant that shares his name in a sense

theory time: the strawhats are hallucinating rn, chopper is trying to save them as they arent actually on elbaf, they are actually on the ship of the man marked by flames (his ship is big enough to have a port, however the sunny is so big that no other ships fit in)

If you were wondering about the tree in elbaf called Yggdrasil, according to online it is associated with both life and death. It acts as a gallows that the god Odin hangs himself from in order to gain mystical knowledge, and it is said to be the source of new life after Ragnarök (Doomsday), the catastrophic final war of the gods. Also when you were talking about whether or not there are other giant colonies Saul in Nico robin’s flashback stated “don’t lump me in with the elbaph, they’re the most famous, so of course the world believes all giants are like them, there are gentle giants too” which can allude to there being other colonies of giants in a way

I've seen people equate the giants reporting to a 'Sun God' as something cult-like but it's the first that I've seen the connection to Enel and Skypiea- makes me think of whether Elbaf would have that same adventure type of feeling Skypiea had when we explore more into the arc. Very nice format. I really like your content plus your ideas are very unique and reasonable. Gotta say comparing Sun/Sungod to the lion via the Sunny in this chapter is a genius move. Quite literally noone besides you had this idea and I feel it very much (even if it turns out it's not true - still very reasonable). On a side note I like this format very much because all you show here is panels and pictures. I like your 'old style' a little better. Please don't get me wrong: As far as I could tell I like you as a person and your style of humor! Since I listen/watch OP videos like this on a regular while doing other stuff I personally can just better follow the narrative when there's pictures shown of the characters that are being discussed.
