Garp showed extreme Haki mastery, specifically Armament, at being able to replicate what's essentially pushing the turbo button on racing cars.

It's gonna cement them into the same relationship that Garp and Roger had. They're gonna have a great respect for each other, because they understand their worldviews and overall goals, and when shit really hits the fan they won't hesitate to team up. But outside of that, Luffy just cannot help but cause chaos wherever he goes, and is basically too selfish to help with the cleanup. That's basically going to end up being Koby's job: doing what he can to rein Luffy in, and picking up the pieces of whatever mess he leaves behind.
