This is a critical Usopp episode and I believe his second most important story arc since it sets the foundation of his development over the course of the series. I don't believe we would have had SK and GU without this storyline.

And we JUST got the actor line up for ALL these characters in the live action. My personal favorites are Dorry and Broggy but the guy playing Crocus is going to be fun sense he was on Game of thrones

I don't remember much in terms of how I had felt at the time, but I do remember the impression I had formed of Caroo and of loving Usopp's development. Caroo is a real one, and Usopp is relatable, durable and pitiable. Also, I remember being surprised with Luffy's nonchalance in fighting a giant. My goated MC didn't even second guess it.

About the casting... yea, LOVING it! For every single role they've revealed up until now, they were all spot on imo. About Dorry and Broggy... dude, how I love these Giants, really really love them Glad you're this invested already so early on in the arc.

man, I really wish I would be able to recall a lot of my first read-through (-sprint) impressions but I really went too fast (I caught up at around chapter 610~, so about 12.sth years ago, and binged the anime after that) [I was on semester break back then and did quasi nothing else but reading manga for a week /not just One Piece]
