This and film Z are my favorites. Without spoiler I’m just a kinda explain the feels I get from them: Film Gold is like the funny casino adventure movie with the obvious almost Disney-like villain that is just a blast to watch while Film Z is somber and tragic movie that simply hits you in the feels. Both are great in their own way.

A lot of the ppl on your chat don't seem to be that educated on these things bro but Yes, Oda DEFINITELY worked on this movie. Oda worked on ALL the "Film" series. Obviously some more than the other. In Film STRONG WORLD, Oda was the writer of that movie. Meaning he did EVERYTHING from designing to storyboarding to directing. That's why Strong World is till date the most ONE PIECE movie as Oda wrote everything for that movie. There was an interview where he stated that he wanted to make a movie where the Hero saves his Heroine and He decided to make this movie where Luffy saves Nami. In Film Z, Oda probably worked the Least as he was mostly just the supervisor. He did the designs like he does for most of the films. And he revealed Aokiji's TS design in that movie. In Film GOLD, Same with Film Z Oda was the supervisor which was designing the characters outfits however in one of the interview Oda stated that he wasn't a a fan of how the director did the main climax for this movie so he decided to jump in and change and rewrite the entire last 30 min for this movie. If you're wandering what change he made specifically it's the moment where Tesoro takes Nami and Luffy is on the ground and how Tesoro thinks of himself when Stella was taken away from him and then Luffy saves Nami and goes Gear4 to defeat Tesoro. We don't know what exactly the original storyboarder had in mind for the climax but it stated that it had nothing to do with Nami but Oda wanted Nami to be the main focus of the climax scene. Then we have the latest Film Red (don't worry I won't spoil anything about the movie). Oda did state that his involvement on this film is just as much as it was in STRONG WORLD but after watching the movie myself I highly doubt Oda had much involvement. The only thing I will tell you about this film is that it is definitely the most close to canon compared to the other film and not that Oda himself got heavily involved in writing the movie. Like always he was responsible for the designs of the characters and He provided some materials for the crew to work with which had some canon material as well. Also as a bonus there is STAMPEDE, which technically isn't from the film series but was done purely to celebrate ONE PIECE anime 20th anniversary. Again, like always Oda was the supervisor for the film and if I remember correctly there was one clothing company in Japan that did the designs for the SHs for this movie but Oda made some changes to it since he didn't like some of them. Most of the designs were simply a modified version of the design done by that company. Anyway, since this was a special 20th anniversary of the anime TOEI wanted something big so They begged Oda to give them some canon material to reveal in the movie and Oda for once just cuz this was an anniversary for his anime he decided to give TOEI a big reveal moment which hadn't even happened in the manga yet at the time. These are all the films, if you wanna know how I rank them then I'd go with. 1. Film STRONG WORLD 2. Film GOLD 3. Film Z 4. Film RED 5. STAMPEDE

Oda did much more than the character design... although... I think I remember being there for this stream (and Ruff knows this, just cut it out for time) Oda was the executive producer and scenario writer as well. He was very hands on for this film, just not as much for Stampede, but this, Strong World, Z, and Film Red he was greatly involved.

Oda was involved with all the movies from movie 10(strong world) onwards, and he was especially involved with the latest movie "Film Red". these movies are all non-canon, however they have some canon elements to them, for example Shiki is a real character from the One Piece lore, the designs for Lucy in this movie(Gold) is his canon knew design/look in the Manga but this movie was dropped before his canon re-appearance in the post timeskip. same with Aokiji's new design for film Z that was introduced before we saw Aokiji in punk hazard.

This is my favorite one piece movie, first time i watched it i didnt even watch heart of gold beforehand and honestly its just great regardless. I love how Tessoro is constantly saying he's a god, godlike, etc because it plays into the celestial dragons theme, luffy's nika fruit, luffy vs enel, etc. I also really like how we got that little bit of his backstory, it really amps the celestial dragons up as the ultimate evil. It also has RAISE MAX, THE BEST FUCKIN SIDE CHARACTER EVER. My only wish is Brook had more stuff. Someone in chat said "Franky did nothing" and you were right Franky orchestrated the plan and brought the general franky at the end. Brook... fought some random long pirates at the start, had a joke about the owls not seeing him, disguised as "something" when they were all celestial dragons, and didnt even get a signature "can i see your panties" joke with Carina OR Baccarat. Brook is my favorite character and during the opening musical number he didn't even FUCKING COMMENT.

He got his freedom but she never got hers. Imagine if she had lived a few years more, what might have happened if they'd been reunited when they were freed......

Ironically enough Korina actually screw herself by stealing Gran Tesoro, if you really think about it. She basically was left alone on giant tresuare trove without any actual defence beside speed of giant turtles that pull the ship. And not anywhere but in New World-Most Dangerous Place on the planet that fillled with most dangerous people on the planet. Any strong enough pirate crew or aliance may siege it after enough time and preparation. Selestial Dragons also may decide that they need to return they money and send for Korina and ship both Marines and they SP lapdogs. Any Yonco may decide to claim such prize. Heck, even some civilians my basicaly bit her up and claim ship if she decide to stop for resuply or to sell something. She does not have anyone to backup her in both keeping and actualizing tresuare and if someone think about mercenaries... It actually would be much more easy for them to get rid of client and claim it for themselves. So it rather sad if you think about it-all this sceme, efforts and betrayal and in the end prize become burden.

1 Movie 4 - Dead End Adventure - Best animation, could be a filler arc right before long ring island. 2 Movie 9 - Mugiwara 3D Chase, just an adventure 3 Movie 10 - Strong World 4 Film Z (11)- first one I watched, made me fall in love 5 Film Gold(12) - Love that tesoro was in love 6 Film Stampede (13)- Douglas not sad enough backstory or interesting amazing plot. 7 Film Red (14) - haven't watched yet except 10 mins 8 Movie 2 - Clockwork Island - Peak 90s animation 9 Movie 6 - Mechanical Island By far crispy 10 Movie 5 - Baron 11 Movie 8 - Alabasta Remake 12 Movie 7 - Chopper Remake 13 Movie 3 Choppers Island 14 Movie 1 - Crispy animation Not including the ovas and tv specials. But I love the episode of merry and Nami, skypea remake. Can't wait for a whole cake remake in 8 years .

I want to mention one thing. That part where franky jumps in front of Luffy to save him from bullets was indeed a good move. Yes, Luffy is rubber but sea prism bullets exists and they can EASILY take down power holders. JUST IN CASE Luffy gets shot and his energy drains, it's better to stay safe than sorry.

I find that even if the plot wasn't something out of the park or particularly outstanding, the characterization is on point and the comedy is as well. Sometimes OP characters are very OOC in movies and it throws me off. It loses a lot of immersion if characters behave in ways they'd never do in the main series.

In regards to movies feeling off, I felt that way with two scenes in movie 6. Some people interpret them as the island messing with those crew members, which I can accept as a head canon, but I felt like two statements went too far if you followed the series from East Blue, even though those out-of-character lines were intentional.

Oddly enough I'm perfectly willing for this to be canon however I'm not willing for the random Land of wano episodes that seem like they're actually living there and everything like that to be canon because they show up and they fight they don't openly live in town for a long while first. Buggy to my knowledge never actually shows up in wano yet he clearly did show up in those episodes where we're in that land long before we actually get to that land. Those are some other universe or somewhere in the distant future after Luffy has become king of the pirates and has settled down in that area.

I guess it’s based on personality. I like film Z because its better story wise, and a bit more serious like we don’t see luffy laugh after being defeated at the beginning by Z and even though non canon it has better connection to the story as a whole. Film Gold had a lot of fun while story being a little similar to movie 6, but less serious.

Personally I say unless it is like rehashing a timeline that we know couldn't have happened such as if ace did get the gum gum fruit what would the world be like today if they did an episode or a movie based on that then clearly it is not canon to this one piece universe however it would be extremely cool to see... Yet movies like this one where it has no real impact on the larger world and lines up with bounties that they actually had at one point in the story therefore giving me contextualization as to win it could have happened approximately like between point a point c and point D somewhere in there, then I counted as part of the same universe. I don't care what anyone else says they were all created by the same group / person and there's nothing in the story that prohibits them from being in the full one piece universe so they are to me.
