This man have been working non stop for over 26 years now on this, it is his magnum opus, and One Piece is the modern Odyssey, no doubt.

@@mcstrategist I for myself consider most fillers canon ^^ Some fillers fit better into the story than some canon arcs (G8 perfectly fits in after skypiea, while long ring long is just... weird, but still fun). The other fillers are also not bad, like the warship island arc. Yes, some "feel" more like fillers but they still fit in.

For a little context, The series starts out in the East Blue, which is a relatively normal area, with really the only weird environmental stuff is one minor sea monster, and a huge bird. But when you get into the Grand Line, things get crazy. Yes, some of these images are the same place from different angles, but it's still a vast world, it has been calculated to be 2.7 times bigger than our Earth. Some of the stuff in here are from non-canon movies. They omitted Tottland, which is basically Disneyland mixed with Candyland where everything is either sentient or made of food or both, and has the most variety in terms of people, and I don't just mean skin color.

One of the beautiful parts of Oda's worldbuilding aspect is that each island is very unique and anything that happens in that world feels alive and breathing. Oda does a wonderful job of filling in his manga cover art in every few chapters by providing insight on what happen in other parts of the world, which will eventually coincide with current events. Oda is a god when it comes to storytelling and foreshadowing

Gold Roger's achievement wasn't visiting *all* islands. It was to travel around the world. It's not that just travelling is anything remarkable but the Grand Line is... Unsailable, essentially. First off love the reactions guys, i have liked seeing your guys views from when gear 5 dropped and I can’t wait to see you start the journey from the begging! As Far as the One piece itself Oda has stated it IS an actual thing and yes he knew from the moment he started the story. But the main purpose the of the story itself was based on the fantasy that Oda had where he wanted to make an extremely epic fight of Titanic proportions, and the series even up to where we are right now is only the prologue to those events. This is what is referenced at the end of the trailer. And even where we are in the manga the story just keeps getting more and more insane where pirates form factions and we are starting to see the shape of this take place and i can say confidently it will be on a scale never before seen in anime on par with the end of lord of the rings in comparison but on another level. When you start out i just advise to take your time, while current episodes are peak, the story is what sustains the series and don’t rush to catch up, the one piece treasure may not be “just the journey” but your enjoyment will be so just strap in and bring along your hopes and dreams and we will find what we are looking for, THE ONE PIECE! You guys would definitely like the live action it's amazing. The author Oda approved of it and he hand picked the cast himself. Theres a bit of a spoiler for the 300s in episode 4 and on (cuz they rearranged the story a bit compared to the manga) but you guys already know some spoilers so I dont think its that big a deal especially if you are going into it mostly blind. Up to you guys how much you wanna avoid spoilers before watching. They set up the live action so that even ppl who have never seen One Piece can follow whats going on. It's a pretty good way to get into the series imo. It's only 8 episodes but it covers up to the first 40 chapters or so (like first 45 episodes of the anime). One Piece is my fave series so if you guys are gonna start getting deeper into it I'm all for it!!! Whether you choose to start with the anime or the live action I'm all for it.

All I can say is trust in Oda, his world building skills are like no other. Each island small or as big as some actual countries have their own culture, different political and ideological views and sometimes different dialects. It’s really fascinating reading/ watching it and I always find myself saying “this mf Oda is insane” the way he creates lol but all or most of your questions will be answered when you start.

I love all those questions you guys are asking and I love knowing that there are answers to all of them. As a 22-year veteran of One Piece anime and manga I know most of those answers but there are so many others that none of us know the answer to except for Oda-san. 😍 It's been said by in World characters that there are millions of islands on the One Piece planet. There are also dozens of different races that we know of so far... I don't mean just different types of humanity, I'm talking about totally different sentient species as well. Also, those thousand episode go by in a flash once you get started. One Piece is like crack: one hit will have you hooked!

to answer your question, yes any caught up one piece fan would be able to name all the locations you saw in the video. You would be shocked at yourself too when you watch the anime on how many of the 1000+ characters, locations and plots you will end up remembering off the top of your head. Also, luffy doesn't go to all these locations. Don't be surprised if you see entire episodes/arcs that dont involve the main characters at all.

Keep in mind that this story first started being published in 1997. Its author was only 22. It's still being written. He's now 49. The scope of what he created is a whole entire dedication to a single project which has been his life's work, and that's the life's work of a genius. Realizing that starts to get your head around just how good One Piece is. It's a masterpiece. I love classic literature. I read Tolstoy, the Bronte sisters, Zora Neale Hurston and Hermann Hesse and I truly see this as on par with what they did.

They haven't been to all of them, but several get shown to show other important characters and what's going on there. The world is HUGE. Not every island luffy has visited, despite how long the series is, luffy didn’t visit that much but the world of one piece is HUGE and it’s always moving so we see other characters once in a while after every arc and we see other islands Luffy did not visit. I think that’s why the world of one piece feels so real and engaging compared to other stories where the story is only moving with the main character. You will be surprised how little luffy has discovered and how small he is compared to the world and other characters, yes now he has grown and his name is more recognizable but before Wano's arc, he wasn’t that big and he and his crew haven’t visited every island. With a world like one piece, i want a big open world game like “The Witcher 3” 😂 like this world of one piece is so well crafted and detailed and it would make a great game, I don’t want luffy as the main character, i just need to play in the world... this is my dream game!

Not your typical Japanese anime games but a really well made game, like I don’t even want the characters in the original story or not the whole world of one piece, just the grandline and we can make our own story, for example eating the fruits we find in the game, things like that. I think the world is big and they can make a good game without even using the characters and the locations we know, let’s say the game is set 100 years before the orignal story. It would be fun. This is my dream game 😂 even if it takes years I don’t mind as long it’s good, but unfortunately I don’t think this will happen.

The Marines work for World Government and the Marines are station all over except for non World Government affiliated countries who the World Government can't get a foothold into. Oda is on Tolkien's level of world building and yes most of that is in the anime and Luffy been to most of those places. For reference power scalers have attempted to calculate the scale of the planet OP takes place on based on stated canon material and scaling of characters to world but results are too inconsistent to say for certain. But the lowest calculations put the planet at 84% THE SIZE OF THE SUN and the crazier numbers put it at LARGER THAN A SOLAR SYSTEM. Regardless the Planet is super massive having 7 moons, 1 of which is so large it is shown to have it's own sub moon orbiting it. Most realistic people conservatively consider the planet to actually be Dwarf Star in size given that is what the lowest scaling calculations have shown the planet to be.

Next week episode is most likely going to be the backstory of the villain Luffy is facing, so be prepared for that since I know you'll watch it regardless to see the end for Gear 5. For the Live Action, Idk honestly. Because episode 4 spoils a episode 314 reveal. But it's up to you. I say prolly go for it since Maverick seems to know some stuff about One Piece already. And for context on how huge the One Piece world is, a island country called Alabasta is comparable to Australia. And there's SOOOO MANY more islands in the OP world, so it's safe to say the One Piece world is way bigger than our world. I mean, one of the Straw Hat's ships is slightly taller than the 50 meter wall in AoT and that's not even the bigger ships of the series. Also, a lot of the places in the video are places in the anime. Some are non canon movie places, but that's the minority of the places. Also, Luffy hasn't gone to all the islands shown. You don't need to go to all the islands to be the king of the pirates. You have to go to Raftel/Laugh Tale to be king of the pirates.

I want to level with you guys because I don't want your expectations being too high for One Piece if you do decide to give it a shot from the beginning, especially considering you've been introduced to it at the peak of its hype. Wano has amazing animation at times, yes. But out of all reasons for people to watch One Piece, pretty much all fans will agree that animation is actually at the bottom of the list of "why One Piece is the GOAT". One Piece is an old anime. The animation is not the greatest and the author does not give a fuck of traditional stereotypes of what something needs to look like in order to be classified as cool. The real bad thing about this anime isn't the length it's the pacing. The pacing of One Piece is bad, every fan can agree with this, but here's the catch: Pacing is the ONLY bad thing about One Piece. Everything else is top-notch. So if the pacing doesn't fuck you up too much, it's almost guaranteed to be the best story you've ever seen. And if someone, in the future, remakes One Piece with better animation and better pacing, it could objectively be the best story ever told by a very long shot. Remember: This is me trying to NOT overhype you guys. I can't stress this enough: this praise I'm giving this anime is me lowballing it.

The One piece world is massive. The planet is around the size of Jupiter and what you saw probably isn't even half the places on the planet. All those places have cities, countries, continents and more. The reason why OP is so long is because its not just about Luffy and his crew. Every other place in the world has its own issues and benefits. A lot of those issues are the same ones we face in real life and it goes beyond what any other anime deals with. Usually animes deal with 1 or 2 specific issues but OP is about multiple problems. Slavery, poverty, natural disasters, evil pirates, evil marines, corrupt governments, corrupt kings/queens, famine, etc. Those same places are also allies or enemies with other cities, countries and continents. So when the Strawhats or other crews go to certain places, they usually affect their individual governments and that will also connect to other people we've seen or other places through relations. Strawhats haven't been to all of those places but only a few of them. The other places have other characters that are important to the story and it actually matters because it effects the story one way or another. If we actually went to all of those places, it'd be over 2000 episodes easily. Its funny when haters say "why hasn't he found the OP yet?" because they truly don't understand how big the planet is and it is not as simple to just go across the entire planet like that when we have 500+ areas that may or may not have been explored. Try living on an Earth the size of Jupiter and travel across all of it. We haven't even fully discovered our own planet and its way smaller in comparison. Plus, these places aren't just for show and have actual meaning behind each place which is true world building. In the Naruto world, theres many villages that were never talked about or even mentioned just because they were smaller and it makes it seem like they have no importance when they're ninjas just like everyone else. Even Attack on Titan which is supposedly involving the whole world STILL hasn't shown many of the other countries and continents or how they were involved specifically with Paradis island. Thats the difference between OP and other popular animes. OP will make nearly everything important because thats how life truly is.

4:24 some of em are repeats, but the landscapes of each island can be so varied that you wouldnt notice. also, all the islands have their own seasons, they don't correlate with one another. Also many of them are from the movies, specials and OVAs, and there are 15 movies and 7 ovas, and 13 specials, each of which can add anywhere from 1-30 islands or something like that. I know film Z adds like 10, film Red only adds like 2.

Well yea what do you expect to an anime with 1000+ episode and it's still explode... Still famous that's why I love this anime those are real all of those places, countrys, villages,sea countrys and all of the islands I love it❤
