Luffys clowning behavior in Gear 5 is really going to downgrade his fights though. Think of how many of Luffys sickest moments throughout the series were when he got real angry at the savagery and evil of the villains. His rage at Arlong in Namis' map room. His rage at Crocodile in the collapsing temple. His silent wrath against Lucci in Enies Lobby. Its going to be so wack if the end villains do some heinous stuff and Luffys just giggling like a fooI. Oda probably regrets Gear 5 at this point, he has surely realized this himself by now as well. You can no longer give Luffy SICK moments in fights, only GOOFY moments.

Regarding the Zoro/Sanji stuff: Zoro and Sanji were always portrayed as relative. Relative does not mean 100% identical, it means around the same value (in this case power-level). While Zoro clearly has more AP (Damage Output), Sanji clearly has more speed. While Zoro has more range (flying slashes) Sanji has more mobility (skywalk). Even now they are somewhat equal in defense, Zoro has always been a resistance monster and now Sanji has extreme durability thanks to his biological-engineering. So, saying that one is leagues above the other is simply misunderstanding the manga. Regarding the Zoro vs Lucci stuff: Laughing at the people who said that Zoro was going to one-shot Lucci, or at least finish him fast, is stupid. Thinking that about Zoro is only natural, since his fights mostly play like that. Zoro has a vast track record of finishing his opponents with few CONNECTING blows. That's been consistent for the whole series, and the main reason why many Zoro fights have the element of handicap to draw out the confrontation (Mr 1's durability and Zoro loosing his swords, Pica merging with the mountains, Ussopp being handcuffed to him against Kaku, King's invulnerability state). Zoro defeated King with THREE connecting blows!! He is not a character that wins fights via accumulation of damage like Sanji or even most of Luffy's fights. Also, you have to take into consideration that Lucci is an awakened Zoan. Jack, Queen, King, Marco and even KAIDO were not awakened... (I'm not saying Lucci is stronger than all of em) and that makes sense cause Lucci has been stated several times to be a genius in regard to combat. He is also one of the highest-ranking people who work for the WG and the Celestial Dragons, so yeah, he is hella strong. Lastly, we can't forget about something much more important than power-scaling, and that is PLOT! Right now there aren't a lot of enemies to fight. The Seraphim are deactivated, as well as the pacifistas, BB's crew had a stealth (non-confrontative) mission, and the marines are being dealt with by the Giants. So you have Luffy, Sanji and the rest to fight against Kizaru. Zoro is not needed, thats why Oda is making him fight against the second-strongest enemy on the island. Zoro helped Luffy in Onigashima and now is Sanji's turn to take that place, because they are relative and the wings of the future Pirate King!!

First let me say, I am not a Zoro stan. I am at worst neutral to Zoro. He is cool. But Zoro stans keep putting themselves in these situations where they put unrealistically high standards on Zoro that he won’t live up to. Other people get annoyed by the stans acting like he’s the main character of the series, so when Oda shows that he’s not #1 in the verse, these people dog pile on the stans who were running their mouths. This is the same thing that happened when he fought King and the stans said he would one shot King. Lucci is literally first division commander level. He’s an awakened zoan with full control over his mind + a rokushiki master. Not to mention the fact that Zoro has been using KoH mode for an extended period of time without putting his life in danger. Idk why people are ragging on Zoro so much. He’s not as strong as Luffy. He isn’t supposed to be. Luffy is a Yonko. Zoro beat a YC1 and is clearly a higher end YC1. But we’ve been told time and time again that the gap from YC1 to Yonko is huge. Like is Marco anywhere near Whitebeard? Is Kat anywhere near as strong as Big Mom? Is King anywhere near as strong as Kaido? No. So why are people expecting to have Zoro right up at Luffy’s level? He’s a commander. And Lucci is commander level. If anything, this chapter is having Zoro perform as expected while Sanji over-performed. 🤷🏻‍♂️ Glad to see Sanji having a good highlight. Also, I think the reason Kizaru wasn’t sweating as much with Luffy was that he was already fed all the intel on what Luffy could do coming in, and he knew he was facing a Yonko, so he had already prepared himself for someone that should be stronger and could match his speed. But when Luffy’s SECOND COMMANDER can step up and block that in BASE, that’s a game changer. There’s now at least 2 people Kizaru knows can keep up with him, and that’s a bad time. Now Kizaru has to rethink this whole situation because IF Lucci were to fall to Zoro + Jimbei (which is a virtual certainty), he could potentially be facing a Yonko AND 3 commanders, and he knows that the SECOND commander can match his speed or worse. They have the least intel on Sanji of everyone on Luffy’s crew. That’s gotta be scary AF. Don’t forget that Jimbei was blocking magma fists from Akainu bare handed at Marineford. Kizaru now has the realization he is potentially in WAYYYYY over his head, and with the battleships being taken out by Luffy’s reinforcements, plus Bonnie having control of the Pacifistas, this is suddenly looking really bad for them.

Might just be durable feat. You have to have high level durability to do it. Of sure top tiers could do what sanji did, Power of Love sanji does seem to have top tier durability, stated by queen atleast above a master of ardament haki

Why does Usopp need binocs though In Dressrosa he used crazy strong Observation Haki to see across the entire island I guess Oda is gonna keep him fully unlocking that ability for Elbaf because him unlocking his true powers is what finally will make him brave, like a Giant. I like Zoro, but I've never been so delusional that Zoro has ever been stronger than Luffy in gear 5. If it takes Luffy 2 minutes to defeat Lucci in gear 5, then of course it will be longer for Zoro. This just means that Lucci is about as strong as a 1st division commander now, maybe 2nd.
