Update: 3 months later and I’m still going strong. My son has giving up watching with me as he watched the series 4 times already. Now we watch Attack on Titan together. I’m a little behind with one piece because of adulting, but I’m in episode 551. I almost died crying in episode 483. I was traumatized by the episode. Almost gave up but I can’t leave Luffy, especially in his time of need. It may sound dramatic but during the past 3 months I’ve had depression and other health issues and Luffy cheered me up. We have formed an emotional bond. I know, I know... I’m nuts lol.

I read the latest chapters when they came out during my lunch break and found myself breaking down by how heartbreaking they are. Kuma’s backstory is something else ifykyk. Btw… I am an anime watcher second. I am also caught up with the most recent episode of One Piece. This opening and opening 26 are PEAK! Hiroshi Kitadani doesn’t miss! The animation and song perfectly suit the introduction of the final saga. I am thankful that my sons introduced me to One Piece. One Piece has become my favorite anime of all time. Watching One Piece has filled a part of my soul that I never knew needed comfort. It will stay with me till the end of my days. I’ve have been watching anime since I was in my early 20’s. I began my quest into anime with Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex, Samurai Champloo, Paranoia Agent, and Android Kikaider on Adult Swim at that time. The first anime I introduced my sons to was Android Kikaider and they loved it even though it was depressing. The anime is old but it’s good. As time has passed on anime has become my primary source of entertainment. I have tried watching regular shows on streaming platforms nowadays but they don’t fill the need. Vinland Saga, Hunter x Hunter, Re:Zero, Monster, JJK, Konosuba, Clannad: After Story take up my time now (there are many others which I have not mentioned). Although I may be in my 40’s, IDGAF, anime is my first choice of entertainment. One Piece and its world building is otherworldly. Nothing compares to it and never will. One of the best and iconic opening songs of One Piece, one of the best animes that I ever watched! I'm so glad I'm able to witness Luffy and the crew's journey from East Blue until they reached the Grand Line. Currently on Water 7 arc, episode 283, and hearing this song brings tears to my eyes. Edit: I'm on Wano arc now, episode 1017. It took me 8 months to get there!! Being able to hear this song again on the opening intro of episode 1000 made me teary-eyed! Mugiwara no ichimi, you are the best!
