Is one piece really worth the rip? How’s the resell for the cards?

Not as good as there have been lots of reprints of late but the game is great and having a great time collecting it and not really looking for short term gains with it. Hopefully this will grow the game. A lot of the value will be down in the road in early sets and some of the Pre-Release items deemed 1st Editions imo. It sure beats the value you'd get in a box of sports cards though and getting taking to the shed all the time.
