Before this arc we all thought that luffy can achieve anything he disire and starting this I personally believe that ace will definitely rescued but his death was too shocking 😭

The worst part is that Luffy did save him, he used conquerors haki to stop the second execution attempt and got him off the platform (unlocking the handcuffs too) but Ace chose to fight Akainu instead of running away like they were supposed to. Then he sacrificed his pride (the white beard tattoo on his back) to save the only thing in the world that Ace thought was more important than it (which is his little brother Luffy). I think it was a sad enough death before I even picked up on any of the other details, but once I did Ace’s death hit me even harder.

I also feel bad for Garp in the sense that he genuinely wanted Ace and Luffy to live a good life, but in the end he couldn’t even say a proper goodbye to his grandson who he had to watch die and not be able to do anything about it. And Sabo who only got his memory back when it was too late, because if he had remembered earlier he would have done the same thing as luffy to help Ace, maybe even bringing the revolutionary army into it(?) but if that had happened then the summit war arc would have been the end of One Piece because the navy would have probably been obliterated
