I remember buying some OP booster boxes on a whim in the summer. Pulled the manga art Ace in my first OP booster box. That was my gateway to collecting OP. Fast forward, I just started playing OP only a few weeks ago and it’s a been a lot of fun. There were so many beginners at my LGS tournament. When I was planning to take a break after OP5 because I’m going super hard at this set, they make OP6 another absolute banger and it’s going to keep me in it. Well done Bandai.

Happy to see your channel growth, been following you since the optcg dropped. I remember you predicting how big the game was potentially going to be and the hate you got for it but you were right in the end.
@smellydot123311 ай бұрын
I think something that plays a part in why the OPTCG is doing so well, is that One Piece fans have been starved for a quality One Piece game for so long. That's why there are so many people that are new to card games actually getting into the TCG.
@Fizzlezz11 ай бұрын
So true now that you pointed it out. If there was a One Piece DragonBall fighterz equivalent or a new gacha game like Treasure Cruise, Bandai would be rolling in the dough even more than they already one.

As soon as I realised there was a one piece tcg I immediately knew it was going to be big, when I actually bought my first box and saw how amazing the cards were and then to find out how fun the gameplay was, I was hooked. Collecting these will likely be a hobby for life.

I just got into it. I bought a Black starter deck and the Kingdom Of Intrigue double pack off a whim. I love it. I'm starting to play with people, I've bought the Red Straw Hats to perform better. The game is very worth the price of admission.

My local store started doing league which at the end of the league you can win a box of the new set. It is fun trying to get the achievement like have Vivi and Luffy on the board at the same time or tap 3 characters that don't untap next turn. Using a different leader each week for the new leader points is fun and the getting points for leading your deck to others make you socialize a lot

I'm 16, at target a month ago, I bought 2 starter decks to play against my friend. A week later, I got 2 packs from target. Op01 and a op04. The op04 had the sanji. The op01 had a parallel Nami. The 2nd card pack I ever opened for one piece had one of the most valuable cards in the game... WOW, now I'm addicted

When the announcement was made about One Piece Coming to TCG, I literally decided to go all in. This was my very 1st card game that I wanted to learn, play, and collect. I absolutely love it! I also predicted that from a collector point, this would definitely be one to collect. Everything I predicted so far has been correct. I honestly think it has what it takes to become TOP 3.

Started collecting in April of 2023 and bought so many early singles for a couple dozen dollars. It’s ridiculous how much in the HUNDREDS/THOUSANDS even my collection is worth now. this card game truly is blowing up in a way no one expected and I love it.

And this is how the video ended... "The Fourth Emperor of the TCG Emerges" My wife and I discovered this game in late September, and decided to collect it. We now have a completed set of OP01-04 and ST01-10, and have 5 cases of OP05 coming at release. To say we got a little obsessed is an understatement.
@greedguts413011 ай бұрын
I’ve been following the card game since they announced it. But I didn’t expect it to be as expensive as it was. So my first box into the game was op-04 but I’m excited for op-05 and what the future has in store for this game. Been a fan of the anime and manga since I was a little kid. So them making a card game out of it was great news to me. And it’s probably the only card game I have put time into that isn’t digital.
@jmore812811 ай бұрын
Started playing mid September this year! Picked up a Yamato starter deck and played vs my friend for two weeks and then we ended up building decks from scratch, I built Ace for around $80 but if I were to build the deck now it’d be around $150! Crazy how the game has changed, happy it’s getting the recognition but sad about these prices 😅 but I’m loving the game! Goodluck to everyone on OP-05!

Been watching your OP videos since the start. I love the game so much, but I enjoy collecting even more, you have been on point on all your predictions 💯 My best pull to date is op01 Nami AA , and my most beloved card is the super pre release winner Luffy. And my biggest regret is not holding onto sealed OP01 blue bottom box, I opened 4 total 😅, I do also have a picture with you from the firt Birmingham OP tournament, you such a cool dude that loves the OP community, thanks for all the effort and information you put onto the videos mate, you rock 💯 and happy 1st Anniversary Nakamas!, lets make OP the greatest TCG game out there ☺️

Happy Anniversary you too! Hope to see you and can say hi, during the Utrecht event! Anyway I started to play to OP TCG few months ago, and now I am a little bit addicted to it. The community is extremely kind, and the meta is still in development. There are a lot of things that BANDAI can improve in their approach. First of all, after OP04 they have enought data to understand properly the amount of boxes and preleases they can cover, in Italy we are facing a lot of problems on that side. A lot of postpone events and shops without any idea if they can guarantee the event or not. Second, the meta switches. I understand that the last month of op04 was a good moment to change the meta for the players but changes like the RED bans are risky. A lot of Red players quitted the game because of that, they must be more careful about the meta flow during the whole year, even slowing down the release of news sets, can be useful to clarify if the meta is belanced or not. Anyway sorry for my spaghetti English, hope that everything was understandable. Bye! Bye!

As a one piece fan I could have told you that these game was going to be successful from its inception off the fan base along 😂, similar to Disney but not on that scale . I played yugi oh back in the day so hearing a one piece tcg was being started I instantly wanted to get product but couldn’t get anything on launch. A lot of people get into tcgs from growing up with the TV shows aka pokemon / yugi oh ( magic is different it’s the forefather ) and the one piece community is MASSIVE. As long as product stays widely available more one piece fans will get onboard it’s inevitable. In due time I would not be surprised if it becomes the most popular TCG.
@Jcobboi11 ай бұрын
one piece is doing incredibly well for its first year in sales. Pokemon has been out for more than twenty years so its not surprising that its doing better. Even so, I'm pretty sure one piece had a greater growth rate in sales than pokemon when it was in its first year too. But if one piece manages to stay this consistent then it can overtake, but the chances are low.
@cosirus011 ай бұрын
To your point able availability, we have 7 card shops in my city and none of the seven can ether get product in or keep it for more than a day. I ask the store owners if they can just up their orders and they tell me that they are being limited on how much product that the stores can get. I can go to a target and maybe 55% of the time find some for of double pack, starter deck but never booster packs. They need to open up still more to the local card shops and maybe just booster packs to the box stores. We dyeing out here in Colorado.

I remember having this debate when OP01 was announced. Knowing how successful Bandai has been with DBS and Digimon, they absolutely should have been able to predict combining their biggest hit game (Digimon) with the World's biggest manga (One Piece) would be an instant hit and they should have allocated more, or by OP04, had plans to reallocate more product. Starter Decks in the US are $50+, and OP01-02 are ridiculous prices. Idk about a "favorite" memory, but moving to Japan the day after OP02 launched in the US, prepped with OP03 Nami deck fully built, only to have a Cabaji ban a week later, definitely is a canon event that sticks with me.

Main issue is that it's too expensive for new players to go in. Bandai needs to do reprints/alt arts on more used characters and not just Nami, Zoro, and the such. Queen needs to be restricted, as every purple deck has him as a mandatory 4x, which isn't healthy for the game or deck builds.

It sold out a 2,500 tournament in 10mins. That doesn't happen because of the IP. NA finals is sold out too. People are talking about the game because it is great to play. That's my point here: it has everything right now
