@Siobhan Shavonne...I agree with you. I was nervous watching him today. I don't know if they read the comments, but I've seen others complain that they don't let him eat by himself. Well, this is what he does when he eats by himself. Did you notice on that recent video where he was eating a giant croquette he didn't want to take bites from it. He complained and gave it back to his parents. I prefer when they gave him a couple of small items at a time.

@@josi7690 Yes I have seen that video. Little Tom is still learning how to eat. My daughter was almost the same way. She ate really fast but I had to pace her so she would not get too much in her mouth and choke. Baby Tom can be guided and given smaller portions at a time. You can see that when he strains and blinks his eyes when swallowing it's because the pieces are too big and he doesn't chew it that well. This was a little difficult to watch because he didn't have any more room in his mouth for more food and appeared to be gagging, but hopefully soon he will begin to adjust with Mom & Dad's help and keep enjoying his delicious food. 🙂💕

I appreciate your comment💕 Recently Tom wasn't enjoying his meals… When we fed him with a spoon, he get up in the middle of the lunch. because maybe he wasn’t able to eat at his own pace. But, if we give him small piece, he eat so fast. That’s why we made large croquette. We'll try to eat at Tom's pace... But we take one step at a time. My English isn't very good, but I'm happy if you can understand.

He looked like he was choking on that broccoli stem. Maybe cut it shorter next time. And his food should be smaller so he doesn’t choke on it. He stuffs his mouth with food that’s too big. He will have digestive problems if he eats like that. His food is not chewed very well.

こんにちは! トムくん、入れ過ぎ入れ過ぎ ダメだよ～😵😵今回は、ハラハラドキドキしながら見てしまった…｡オェッってなってた😵 詰まらせないか心配です。詰まらせたときの対処法は大丈夫ですか？心配です。 お皿に全部のせないで、１・２個ずつお皿の中がなくなったら足す感じで食べさせてあげてみてください。極力、トムくんが掴み食べの日も増やし続けてあげてみては…｡毎日の事で大変かもしれませんが…｡トムのお口に詰めすぎ予防の練習ですね。

一つずつトムくんの前に置いて食べさせると、一つ口に入れるたらすぐに「もっとー」とせがむので、ご両親はそれも直したいのでしょうね。 例えば「お口に入れたらカミカミして、小さくなってからゴックンするんだよ。そのあとトムくんが『もっとー』」って言わなくてもあげるからね。たくさんお口に入れると喉に詰まっちゃうから一つずつなんだよ」などと話してあげて、機嫌が悪くなっても、言い続けていると学習して、 ご両親が何をダメだと言っているかが分かる様になると思います。 一歳になれば、大人が話している事はちゃんと理解できますから、気長に話してあげて下さい。

コメントありがとうございます。 万が一誤嚥が起こった時の対処法はかかりつけの先生に教わり人形で練習もしていました。そのことをテロップででもお伝えできていればご心配をかけずに済んだかなと反省しています。 最近のトムくんは、私達がスプーンでご飯をあげても途中で立ちあがちゃったり、自分のペースで食べれないのが嫌みたいで今回の方法を試したんですよね。 自分の一口サイズも覚えられればという気持ちもありましたが、 焦らずにやっていきたいと思いました。
