de minaur situation is unfortunate because if he didn’t get injured at wimbledon he would’ve easily made it to the atp finals. he improved so much this year and proved everybody wrong who thought his ceiling was just outside the top 10, so i hope he can have a deep run in paris and make the atp finals.

There are a couple of recognizable names that are lower ranked this year actually like Ons Jabeur, Marketa Vondrousova, both were a part of WTA Finals last year, tough season for them :(

Without that serve, he's yet another average player. Going into the Basle tournament, he had lost 8 of his last 9 matches. That's the level of dependency, he has on that shot. The great players separate themselves from the rest of the herd by having an almost flawless all round game, that helps them compensate, for when they're experiencing an 'off' day.
