That’s what I thought too with the villains. It’s like with obsessions or passion that turns them to villain. And then there’s saitama. Before hero association was form, I think saitama was or could be the first who display heroism against the crab villain at early episodes and he said he will be a hero who defeats his enemy with one punch. And then, he got that glow in his eyes shit thing, and the next thing he knew he got bald and got his wish.

a bit late, but if anyone who doesnt understand how monster and heroes become stronger, it is their "desire:, "passion" and "greed". mr crab said he ate too much crab, he love crab so much that he became one, same as lizard, custom car guy, scientistbody builder brothers, etc. Mumen rider wanted to be come a symbol of justice, a class C strongest "not powerful hero", thats why he isnt strong at all. Saitama desired to become the most powerful hero who can defeat enemy with one punch, kill or not, he will always win in 1 way or another (for example he beat snake with 1 punch, same for genos). Boros is one of the most powerful foe in the series, so inst surprise he can take a few punch, but after saitama's first punch he is already considered "defeated"
