This arc ends up hitting you right in the feels...all of them. Little kids crying and screaming their support and belief in their heroes...the suicidal hopelessness and nobility of putting yourself between certain death and the innocents who can't defend themselves...and the utter lack of gratitude, and bottomless cynicism of some people who would denigrate the courage and sacrifice of others on their behalf... Also, how Saitama destroys any chance of finally gaining recognition in order to make people appreciate the heroes who were willing to give their lives to protect others. Even though it's pretty popular, OPM is still incredibly underrated and under-appreciated, it's really subtle but ultimately an incredible universe and narrative that ONE came up with.

One of the unique things about One Punch Man is that we are made to enjoy the anime, there are many anime show overpowered characters, but because the delivery wasn't good, we ended up not being able to enjoy the anime, I mean one punch man is about an overpowered character who can defeat all his enemies with just one hit, what's good about that?, maybe we can still enjoy one episode and then get bored, but for me in this case, madhouse the studio that made this anime change my expectations for one punch man in a good direction, madhouse is one of the best studios in making an anime. You guys have to react or watch it yourself another anime from madhouse, for example death note or no game no life, I'm sure you won't regret it.

Not to discredit Madhouse's involvement but it's the veteran director pulling in his boys from all different studios (Studio Bones, Wit, etc) which is what made OPM Season 1 as incredible as it was. Otherwise, it would have still been good since Madhouse has a bunch of hits (HxH 2011, Death Note, Overlord, etc) but maybe not as great as it was.

@@GuyLogen Yeah not really good as they used to be, they've been losing talents way back in production of HxH but they were able to finish it before some of the staff left. Overlord was a testimony that they can't do their traditional animation style and had to resort to CGI (which was awful at some parts, especially s3 of Overlord). OPM was a special case because this was a passionate project of an industry veteran Director and some of the best freelance animators in Japan.

He cares, sweet. ^^ And Puri-puri-prisoner is scary on another level for his inmates, because he is the boss of a harem there, but the harem doesnt want to be a harem, if u understand... pretty nasty. You're definitely on the right track with the hero association and it's flaws: it has good intentions, and the ranking system is designed so that they can assign the best people to appropriate monsters (why send a class S hero to attack something 2 C's could beat? something bigger might turn up and the class S hero is too far away to help) with the option for people to move up or down if they were incorrectly assigned to a class (like Saitama...), but the hero's themselves treat it as a pecking order and as a popularity contest, and will try to game the system in order to rise in the rankings for all the bonuses it gives, and class S is the worst for this. Class S heroes KNOW they are the best and that the hero association completely relies on them (you'll see why later, if a season 3 of the anime comes about), so a fair few of them are quite arrogant and self-centered and can often CHOOSE whether or not to take a mission, depending on if it benefits them or if it looks fun (some class S heroes are in it PURELY for the challenge and to test their own limits, so they are incredible fighters, but not amazing at caring for the public)
