One Republic - Lullaby

I’m not sure why exactly but this song and piece of music is one of the pinnacles I think to OneRepublic and who they are/their sound... To me anyway. I love all of their songs and have been a huge fan for many years, since Dreaming Out Loud was released and even more so since I saw them support Bon Jovi in the O2 arena over 10 years ago, I’ve always loved music in general but I was hooked on them from then on. Their music primarily has been the soundtrack to so much of my life, ups and downs, girlfriends and breakups, losing my dad, and just... life! So I make the comment above for the following reason - Hearing Lullaby and other songs like Au Revior reminds me that one day OneRepublic won’t be around anymore for one reason or another, and will have stopped making music altogether, which of course happens to all bands and artists at some point, but that thought coupled with this song come hand in hand for me. It’s sad and beautiful at the same time. This is their goodbye, written many years before they actually have to say it...Thank you to OneRepublic for just being you. I love you guys. Pete

Wow this sums up exactly how I’ve felt about this song for many years. I remember sitting in my parents house as a teenager downstairs, long cold winter nights, surfing the web or just hanging out listening to this song and watching the branches of the trees swaying against the night sky. Feeling lost in that moment in time. It’s sad but beautiful at the same. A goodbye to an era before that era comes. A knowledge that nothing is permanent. Nothing is forever. But sometimes the night feels that way in a comfortable quiet way. This will forever be one of my favourites from OneRepublic.
