One Rule for Underscoring on Keys - Worship Keyboard Tutorial

Very helpful! I like to underscore in a progression that is not related to a song. That way the congregation is not singing the song in their head while the speaker is closing out the service. During the end of the prayer I transition into the chord progression of the song that we end our service with and this will be a nice variation.
