Your best and most simple drill. Ever. Thank you Mark
@SolomonLi Жыл бұрын
Glad you clarified what the drill is trying to prevent. I definitely used to sway laterally a bit around two years ago. I was definitely on a journey and came across these videos you put up talking about side bend, tilts, etc. I’m not perfect, but it’s been a tremendous transformation where my strikes, path, and freedom to rotate are so much better. Thanks for all you do Mark!

That was one of your Best videos. Cause I am either no turn or to much tilt. How you demo the correct way for both tilt and turn finally makes sense

Great video, really good for understanding the correct shoulder turn

This is a wonderful video and drill!! It places the key components of turn and tilt together in one seamless motion. One without the other will leave a player hacking and flailing in perpetuity. Making it nearly impossible to time the squaring of the clubface at impact. Too many golfers try to overcomplicate a movement that will automatically improve their game. Even if this drill is done 80 percent properly, it will make the player more consistent than they were before. Look at any elite player and they all have a 45 degree angle of incline with their shoulders at the top of the backswing. OBVIOUSLY, THIS IS THE POSITION EVERY PLAYER NEEDS TO BE IN!! This drill helps put you there. The finest players DUMB down the action to a tiny set of keys that unlock the magic box. This is the drill to straighten the driver from a Crooked Stick into a Straight Driving Slide Rule.

Thank you Mark, before I was just turning but the ball would go anywhere, with turn and tilt, I now have the confidence to hit the driver

Excellent video. Once I learned the tilt, I started getting the ball off the tee more consistently. As a beginner, a lot of people will say keep your head down...it's more, keep the shoulder down.

Great tip & drill - this is definitely one of my most persistent swing faults - so very helpful - thanks!

Mark, my problem is going left, which has more influence, flatter setting or an open face angle on my driver to keep from going left.l bought a srixon z785 and really like it, thanks for your help.

I don't normally comment but I've been dealing with a nasty slice on all of my woods recently. Nothing I tried really seemed to help. After a couple of bad drives on the range tonight I remember this drill and gave it a try *maybe* a half dozen times and then gave my drive another try and WOW what a difference! Legitimately felt like I hit my driver straighter and even further than ever. I'm going to start working this into my range routine and during my backyard practices to really ingrain that feeling into my back swing

It always amazes me how much tilt or side bend is actually needed to hit a good shot. Great explanation and drill. Cheers.

Please do a drill that shows what to do after you have that shoulder down and tilted my problem is I want to throw my right shoulder over the ball and outward a drill to stop that would be lovely thanks love your channel. Love when you do course vlogs Cheers from sunny California
@Turbulence333 Жыл бұрын
This drill combined with proper grip, keeping my arms as straight as possible on the back swing, and “thrusting” forward during the downswing took me from topping every ball I hit (120 yards) to sending my ball 375 yards out and probably just as high from one day to the next.

Loved this- its easy to cheat if you hold it off your chest but pressed into my chest made it much clearer. I thought "I'll be fine, I turn well" and found the club pointing over the ball not down. When done right felt like my right shoulder went high and left low. Will be doing this drill a lot this week to try it out.

Really well done. I've watched similar videos on the topic but this one explained AND helped to visualize what the player should be seeing when doing the drill vs an actual shot. Thanks

Do you recommend more bend at setup. That usually will help promote amateur to start with more side bend.

Love the idea and drill but at 75 years old can't do the tilt and turn as far as you. Maybe 3/4 but certainly can't get grip in line with ball. Any ideas. Thanks Mark.

A while back, you did a video about tilt and said that you should get the feel of reaching for something behind and above you with your trail arm... I've been doing that and it's really help with my irons, but find that on the downswing with driver, I slash at the ball, which leaves the face open. I'm left with that driver anxiety which keeps it in the bag and the course playing longer. Is there a drill or swing thought that will help me get that face square? I suspect that it's largely mental, and at it's core, my desire to crush driver keeps my wrists tight, preventing release. I'd appreciate your thoughts and any help you could give.

Thanks Mark, one question - profs usually have a 50 degree shoulder angle to the ground at the top which puts the shaft in your exercise considerably beyond the ball, are you too steep?
@MarkCrossfield Жыл бұрын
The bigger question with these ideas is too steep for what? 👍

Hi Mark, how tight should we hold the grip on the driver?
@DougieMontana Жыл бұрын
A full turn with the correct tilts will eliminate fundamental problems (ie the collapsed trail elbow), this needs to be addressed and brought together for people to understand
@colinboxall2692 Жыл бұрын
The hard part is maintaining the tilt in the downswing. A struggle to hold a balanced finish over 60% of the time.

Exactly what I need. My miss is way right, and I didn’t know why. Last hole yesterday after driving the ball ok all day, my buddy said your backswing looked different. I came up out of it instead of turning. Going to try this drill. ⛳️🏌🏽♂️
