One box to rule them all. The Firebox is one of the best stoves due to its ability to be a multi-fuel stove. With all the options available I always find myself going back to Firebox.

5" sized butterfly/folding steamer works inside a 14cm Zebra Billy. (Trangia worked great vs wild wood flames in the Firebox 5") Toaks 750ml pot with bail still fits in the Firebox's boil plate. blah blah, I got my Firebox nano X case when I wanted to have smaller to go with my Trangia purchase. With the X case, the Nano doesn't fit in the dandy Nano nylon case/holder, but I got one anyway. With it's D ring, I love it for my fishing license. ~~ When I saw via other vids of the Trangia burner that a common favorite fuel was Yellow bottle Heat gasline antifreeze, I had to have one. Come spring in colder states that Heat can be had for cheap in six packs. Or some in every gas station around.

I have always liked Coleman and will always respect their equipment and brand name. But I agree. Firebox is the KING. I have the G2 and love it.

@@g2outdooradventures4 if your in the woods, Firebox is primarily a twig burner, the trangia burns alcohol and with the insert its multifuel/liquid gas and the fantastic windshield design means you can still make a meal when exposed to high winds. Try and get hold of one for a review, they won't disappoint you. I was a stove collector/user for over thirty years and ownded hundreds of stoves but if I had to pick just one it would be Trangia with insert :) I like you videos.

Firebox can burn twigs ,Swedish fire lay, wood pellets, trangia alcohol stove , charcoal briquettes, propane burner and even more . Very versatile stove !!

@@outdoorsman8498 Very true if your in the woods, most campers don't camp in woodland. Be careful with butane, it pretty much stops working a 5c/40f so you need the propane/butane mix or better still the newer butane/propane/isobutane mix

@@rikuk3 I have both. I use the trangia alcohol and gas burner in the firebox. Trangia cook system is great and I actually use 27 pots and pans with the firebox, but for versatility it cannot compare. On a mountain I'd take an alcohol burner isobutane and the Firebox Nano. Now I'm covered for all eventualities.

Looking for a review of firebox with the msr whisperlite universal....(please, please, please).... :-) I want multi fuel (gas, liquid, solid)...and windscreen that can be used at elevation/cold/bsd weather. :-)

So I don't know how you would use the firebox and MSR Whisperlite together, but with that being said, Mountain Safety Research makes excellent gear. If I was going to be in bad weather and frigid temps I would most likely choose the MSR XGK EX it does not have the fine temp regulator like the Whisperlite, but it is a proven piece of gear, and it is often used for mountain expeditions. It also is good for melting snow with a bush pot for water gathering. Keep in mind the XGK sounds like a jet engine when it's running. I would use Firebox Stoves in a less harsh environment. Good luck!

@@g2outdooradventures4 I want to find a way to use the firebox as a windscreen if possible for a quality stove that burns both liquids and gas fuel. I climb and found the gas canisters are not strong at elevation/cold temps but they are super convenient to get running. I never liked the flimsy foil windscreens and thought one of the firebox stoves might be a versatile alternative. I have seen videos with the trangia system but not MSR or the Optimus omni fuel models. I appreciate the reply and suggestion. I have an old xgk but it doesn't burn gas (iso/butane). Of course weight is a huge issue because gear, ropes, food, water, ...all add up. :-) In the end, one stove may not be necessary or practical. I appreciate the time you took to reply. If this helps explain a bit more a d gets the wheels going for another video...cool! :-)

WRONG !!! If yer some fair weather summer only camper than yea they might work - but for all season camping and yes that includes winter especially. The Coleman stoves will blow away a wood burner firebox, yes wood is cheap to run but slow for cooking, and if the weather is winter and cold or even just wet good luck getting dry fuel. You can after hunting for the right wood and the prepping it for 15 mins ...... The Coleman's light in a minute and will boil faster then lots of wood type stoves ..... Wood is cool no doubt and god knows there's lots around "usually" but you can run them in tents or shelters easily and cleaning the soot of cookware gets old FAST. - the Coleman's you can and they're less work to use. There's reason why some armies run with Coleman stoves but I will give you the fact that the fuel is stinky and yes they're big - its two burner stove, of course it's big!! Hello - bacon and eggs on one side while the coffee is already on the other - no contest. (grin)

LOVE my Coleman gear. I prefer white gas over propane. Propane is very noisy, and the smell of white gas is comforting. Super easy to rebuild too, I rebuilt a 66 2 burner. That suitcase is massive, and the secondary burner isn’t strong enough. I’m mostly using a Coleman single butane burner stove and a Firebox for a second burner. Firebox does double duty as a firepit - I find the size to be perfect. I’m casting an envious eye on the freestyle now, I may have to get one.
