@ 12:00, up to Tier VIII is a grind. Tier VIII has a real good quick reload, but no heal, Tier IX and X give you slower reload, more guns, and a heal, allowing you to play much more aggressive.

the tier 8 doesn't have a heal, yes, but she's tied for 2nd fastest cruiser in-game at 37 knots base

7:55 When going up this line, the turning thing was something I first really noticed around Trento or Zara. I remember being on Estuary and leaving my hard turn on too long, which caused me to severely overturn since it takes a while for the rudder to go back to neutral.

Yeah you have to be careful. The Italian cruisers turn wierd. They bite so hard on the start of the turn but the rudder can't keep up to change direction if you realistically go past half rudder. It's my favorite thing catching Italian cruisers stuck in a turn. Some of the easiest ships to pop in the game... though they're a pain in the ass to hit if yhe captain actually pays attention to incoming fire and maneuvers intelligently.

One reason you might want to run Ship XP bonuses on T10s is to help get your daily containers; if you're mostly playing T10s (eg Ranked), and are only playing a few matches a night, you'll kind of need it to get the second or third containers.

Re: Zao - prefer the zao for several reasons - the concealment let’s zao play at a range where hitting dds is much more consistent- the 2-3 km difference means good ds players can react to Venezia and dodge but they can’t react to zao Secondly, I think zao is better vs bow in targets, especially bbs because he is a better ammunition type in those situations. Thirdly, zao has an easier time maneuvering into positions where she can ap devastate broadside cruisers, again, due to concealment. Venezia tends to be spotted unless she plays really far back, but from that distance, all Ap broadside volleys are reactable

Personally, I find shooting broadside Venezias extremely trollish at longer ranges (they always overpen or bounce) but maybe that's because of how low they sit in the water?

I've resorted to running RPF on my venezia because of it's lack of any other means of spotting nearby ships. It comes in handy all the time to spot those hidden DDs

I wish resetting captains was cheaper, I would love to give this a try on mine. As you say no hydro is a big negative in the current meta, but at least the speed/maneuverability really helps it avoid torps. Plus with so many guns I tend to just blind fire smoke with decent luck.

@@Swarm509 Do it! Bait the torps and the moment you see them smash the W at the DD and run him over tnx to that RPF!!! You will see that the Radar would feel useless :) Venezia is like a Ferrari, most DDs can't run from it ;)

I had zero interest in the line, hearing it they were terrible and seeing most blow up fast in game, but was getting bored with the game and decided to give them a go.... and wow glad I did! The entire line became my favorite cruisers with some of my best games. Just perfectly fit my maneuver playstyle with how agile they are, not much of a fan of sitting behind island spamming HE, and I could do work with it against DD's and other cruisers. Hell even the torps are pretty damn good, being so slow people forget they exist and you can get some cheeky hits/kills in. Or just throw them out as area denial. Not perfect ships, they have quite a few negatives, but great fun. I may even reset the line for Research Bureau points and do it all again. Had a lot of luck with them in ranked as well, and wish I could run my Venezia more often. With so many missions requiring HE/fires in the current dockyard I end up in my Hindenburg more often, although that ship is pretty damn fun too.

I can say that the Venz is worth the misery that grinding through the T8 and T9 is (I generally enjoyed Trento and Zara). It's versatile, very punchy, and while the lack of hydro and radar is kinda iffy and it sometimes explodes while taking questionable shells at sharp angles, I still love it just because it makes destroyers with SAP and broadsiding cruisers with AP fucking vanish. Edit: when I used Venz in CBs last season, I ran range mod, like I do on Napoli and Goliath. If you're playing those, then the extra range is worth more for kiting than extra reload, and you don't get Sansonetti's talent in CBs to help make the range not practical suicide. For randoms I'm just fine with reload.

Try Venezia lighthouse build, it's so nimble that you can still run at caps and DDs but with better dpm. I'm spotted from 17.6 but I usually still smash the first DD spotted from 10km. Usually lose about 10k-15k hp to trade a DD in the first 2 minutes.

I'm a DD main and I know this is a very unpopular opinion, but I feel like this is the most overpowered surface ship in the game. The SAP is absolutely broken in this game and this boat is the best example of that. That's my rant and I move on now lol great video as always

On one hand I love my lighthouse build on venezia with how nice it turns and dodges shells at high speed, on the other hand I like my full concealment build where I got dd spotting going to surprise enemy dd.

As a DD main I must say Venezia is one of the most dangerous ships in game for me. Radar and CV's are a pain but Venezia will slap a DD really quick.

Venezia is probably tied with Nevsky for the most impactful cruiser in the entire game, solely to their ability to actually hurt destroyers hard.

Good vid. Trento on up is great, but I kind of feel like all the lines really become enjoyable at T6. However, it's a different play style and grinding it after Russian, German, US and IJN, I had to re-learn cruiser play. If you get broadside, the Pasta line have huge cits, but smart play makes them far more powerful than they should be with such slow dpm. This seem especially true and T9 & 10.

I run a complete light house build on my Venz. I feel I can dodge 95% of the shots coming in so I don't care if I'm spotted. I'm also always looking for incoming shots while playing.

Good timing.... I am currently grinding this line. As a rule I hate Italian cruisers..... but if I am honest..... it was just that I hated playing against them..... so I finally decided to grind the line so I can figure out how to kill them more effectively. I keep telling my that the grind will pay off eventually...... but the mid-tiers are a rough grind

I really wonder what WG will do for an Italian Supership. I am hoping for something like Napoli with SAP, since I can't find any prototypes that would be viable. I imagine a "refit Napoli"/Ansaldo UP 41, with SAP, a new superstructure, more secondaries, and better secondary pen + AA, would be perfect. It's most likely going to be named "Pisa".

I don't think you understand how superships work, but they take the tier 10 of a line and push it further so a tier 10 Italian supership cruiser would be an improved Venezia. Maybe a Venezia with bigger guns and/or a gimmick, but nothing like Napoli.

@@dzello for one, yamagiri isn't just a shima taken a step further, as it gets the fun button for it's guns. I don't think there can already be assumed a definite design philosophy for superships, as there just aren't that many in the game yet. Apart from that, napoli on crack seems pretty fun to me, and super venezia.. well, just scary as fuck mainly lol

@@symenbrug1992 Both of your points are wrong though? Yamagiri is an improved Shimakaze. It's literally the same ship with improved features all over: better guns, better torps, etc. It's super Shimakaze. There are tons of superships we know about currently, way more than enough to assume a definite design philosphy. Every single one is an improved version of the tier 10 tech tree ship before it. I'm not sure how you think Yamagiri isn't an improved Shimakaze when it's identical but better or how you think there isn't enough superships.. There's like 14?!

@@dzello I'm not saying yamagiri isn't a better shima, I am saying that it doesn't continue in the same vein, as it's gun performance is drastically improved, where the line before that really cant rely on it's guns at all. Yeah they have the alpha, but a yamagiri's burst can melt you fast, which is very much a-typical for the rest of the line.

Venezia, love the ship. One of my clan mates actually said that they would not use this ship because it didnt have HE. These burn the ship down players that refuse to use AP, only make me think of how wargamming rewards poor playing. Even in Clan battles we have the players who refuse to use anything but HE. In clan battles that a short they believe that burning things down which requires much time is better than using AP to sink broadside ships.

If you want to play her well, you need to stay at range. She's a sniper. Try to kite and target enemy broadside at the other side of the map. When there's less threats, you can push more.

Venezia with AP is probably the most reliable cruiser slammer in the entire game. 15 guns with 5k with good pen per shell, you get an insane amount of devstrikes on broadside cruisers with it.

My only complain is why the hell.. the venezia.. which can be detected from orbit because its conceal is so bad.. does not have plane type anti sub warfare. Who was the dumbass at WG who said "hey, lets give this ship that can be detected from the other side of the moon... a close range ASW"
