As an AML /leukemia patient - your floating looking cells are just perfect. So calming. They look cellular indeed. Bravo. Great work.

Thank you for your inspiring talk. When I get stuck, I sometimes think that I’m alone. It’s nice to know that others are “together” with me.

I appreciate you sharing so much! This is the second time I have watched this. I have just started - no teachers in our area. I have made 14 pots, and I'm working on dancing girls right now. I got a hammer and hardie and my next project is with smalti primarily, I hope, and I will hopefully make some memorable works of my beloved Maasai in Africa. Again, thank you, you are one of my teachers.

It is because of your work that I decided to take a break from oil painting and try something different. Now I am addicted. Tile all over my house. So much fun!! Your work is amazing. I have a large collection of fossils, rocks and minerals etc which is what led me to your mosaics. It takes a long time to collect all the materials which I find a exciting challenge (like you said) Thank you for all the inspiration!

Your work is what inspired me to do my first mosaic, and I have continued from there on. Hearing you speak inspires me even more to keep creating. Thank you for all you have done for me and the art world.

I especially liked the parts of your talks where you get really honest and talk about the frustration. I know I really care about what I am doing when it makes me boil over like that ;-). Someday I hope to have a stash like yours too! Wow.

I love your clarity and ability to be so very present in your work that you make everything matter and allow each piece you set to be acknowledged and celebrated and take on life. A true master is what I think you are because what you speak can apply to many things, not just art, but Life itself. I relate to the masochism because for me its all important that it meet a certain sense of completion, even if its just a letter in the mail or wrapping a package for eBay, it has to feel right as a finished project. Thank you for articulating that which I experience but did not have the words for. I love your personal style and your masterful work and approach to it.

You are such an amazing artist. Your thought process is so amazing. My mindset and exploration of mosaics has been very abstract, much like your technique. I look forward to your continued sharing of your art.

This lecture is inspiring. It's maybe a little intimidating. Like being in the presence of a master. I love the idea that mosaic artists are linked to the person who laid that first tile somewhere in Sumeria. How they envisioned that final masterpiece and started that journey to placement of the last tile is the same for us. Just how the intuition and the design as well as the physical considerations all blend is a metaphysical mosaic hovering above the material one. You relate to your work in a way that demonstrates why you are a world class artist.

Using tessera cutting machines doesn't feel like any kind of betrayal to me. Like many mosaic artists, after years of punishing repetitive hammering, nippers, and hand tools I have developed both arthritis and tendonitis, and I thankfully use whatever I require to extend my creativity without guilt or considering my art compromised. Now grinders, lazer cutting and other power tools I can understand; but, please clarify the difference...us 'older' artists may need a few short cuts, but we're still the same dedicated artists we always were. We may use a few 'advances' in cutting our tessera, but we would never compromise our art.
