One thing to consider before going Charge Paladin for the first time in S9 Project Diablo 2 (PD2)

With new QOL improvements to melee and charge in particular for the upcoming season 9 ladder league in PD2 it can be tempting to start as a paladin for the first time with the goal of a chargedin. However, if you are not aware, dsync is still gonna be a factor in terms of how smooth the charge playstyle is gonna feel. I'm sure a lot of ppl already know this, but just in case you did not it is something to consider before investing all your early currency towards charge paladin build.

I'm 65 hours into the S9 with an charge pally, desync definitely is a thing but just keep calm and accept the situation as it is. It's a very cool build right now and I'm ok with being pulled back from time to time.

@@Monarchond2 I got to hell with physical, farmed and got some good gear and runes with it and now I'm working towards the elemental one, it's not finished yet but I'm getting there. It's definitely a strong build if you don't mind the desync from time to time.

Everyone uses Holy sword for the Parry chance and then there's me using Ebotd War Pike and i'm surviving as much and killing as much without it

Hey man! I've been testing charge pally in the closed beta as well and i decided I'm going to be maining it. Which charge pally (elemental or physical) do you think is the strongest for mapping? Two hand or one hand? You didn't show your build here.

Awesome. Welcome to the charger club! Didnt really have a build in the video (just random gear). I think elemental is gonna be fastest for end game mapping in SC, the aura aoe really helps a lot when you perfect the gear for which ever build u go for. 1H vs 2H depends on which kinda aura u go for I think. Like if u go for holy freeze then 1H is prob gonna be best cuz of doom+shattered wall combo and fire prob 2H cuz flamebellow+facets (however didnt test 1H with HoJ+Phoenix, which is also a lot of pierce)

@@Monarchond2 Hmm I did test flamebellow in closed beta it was really strong. I've been noticing though on the open beta I've been getting tons of desynch of charge... which has been super annoying and deterring me from playing it now

I ran dragon charger with flamebellow and its really strong and pretty fast mapper. Dsync is big pain in the ass indeed. Still can recommend, but at the season start it takes off quite slow until you reach dragon arm

I do think the holy sword parry is pretty solid for 2H if you invest in it. You could always go 1H with Holy shield if you prefer tho.

Holy Sword blocks any attack in the game while holy shield only blocks phys attack. Your defense is higher if anything

@Monarchond2 I agree it is good, however the % chance to block is not 75% even when fully invested 20 points. I heard someone say that it's essentially assassin weapon block. It would be cool if dexterity increased Holy sword block% or maybe if holy shield points could increase holy sword block% chance.

@@ekim051084 Block% from items work at a fraction. So you can equip e.g. Steel shade and increase parry chance. The same goes for plus skills in general.

It is if you can deal with the dsync (can be a bit scary tho), but you should go for something like upped swordguard and other block items to boost parry on holy sword
