I think I'm going to go through all the One Thing episodes and use them to make a song, everyday. I think I will start with this one.

Working in audio can be lot's of fun - you can also try reversing the sample, adding warp markers and time stretching parts of the clip, explore clip transposition envelope automation - pitch the sample up or down, do both freeze flatten/consolidate change warp algorithms rinse and repeat the limit is your imagination 🙂

I love some creative warping - there so many options. My fav is get an unquantised sample, then quantise it with repitch warp setting and you get some freaky results!

I often irrationally fear of losing MIDI data not able to go back and edit again. I need to flatten to waves more often to play with stuff like this.
@trsctr
@trsctr Жыл бұрын
you can ctrl(or cmd)+drag the frozen clip to a new audio track and voila, you have an audio clip you can mess around with but can go back to midi if you need to.

I have a question... I want to begin looping but was thinking it would make sense to purchase Ableton software if I can loop with it because I'd end up owning Ableton studio... I'd be more than willing to make the right investments if I could effectively live loop with Ableton software.
@_distilat
@_distilat 2 жыл бұрын
Go ahead and download the trial, you can try it for 90 days. That's plenty of time to figure out if it's sufficient for your live looping needs. It is, after all, quite an expensive investment and only you can decide if it is ultimately worth for your needs.
@sandwich-breath

Ableton Live is much more versatile than buying a dedicated looper pedal… and you can customize it to create a perfect looper using a controller and midi. It takes a bit of effort but it’s much better than being stuck with a hardware looper that has limited functions.

@@sandwich-breath Thank U and I agree. I've already been talking with my Sweetwater contact. I've actually watched a bunch of videos where others demoed it. It's as versatile and complete as any stand alone unit will ever get. PeaCe!

No worries @@rupertgillies447 sorry to hear that didn't solve the issue you're having. The only other thing I can think to mention is make sure you're dragging from the top right corner of the clip when you see the ] symbol.

I've owned Ableton 11 since launch and have had a crash every 3 months at most, almost always after introducing a home made 3rd party/m4l plugin that evidently was not properly bug tested. Are you sure your computer is fit to run the software?

Fix your latency issues when recording, when plugins are in a chain although OFF, when beat-time plugins like LFOs are after effects, when when when! Fix your DAW goddammit. We're paying money for it.
