Hiking and camping can be awesome fun. You can have all the best camping equipment, but without a good night’s sleep… You just can’t enjoy it!
After several bad nights tossing and turning in a hiking hammock, I decided to give a very affordable ultralight hiking tent from Nature Hike a go, while hiking a small section of the Bibbulmun Track.
Good Gear in this video:
Nature Hike Cloud Up 1 Tent: www.ebay.com.au/itm/283235732306

Seek Adventure is easily one of my favorite KZbin finds of late. Good that there is still some unseen content yet to dive into. Looking forward to the past videos and the future ones to come. I even broke out the hiking pan and made Bush Echidnas. Very tasty. Thanks for doing such a great job!

Awesome video mate, great to see some familiar places up in the hills. The footage was good, while I did notice it wasn't the same as your regular videos, I think the phone is perfect for these situations where you need to keep your gear small, light and to a minimum. Out of interest, did you take a power brick for recharging the phone or did you make it through on the one charge? I know how much effort goes into making these videos mate, so thanks for putting this together and sharing your experience! 👍

Hey Andrew, It's awesome out there this time of year. It was just a bit of a trial to see what it would look like when I do have to go lightweight sometimes 🙂. I doubt I would have made it through on one charge, I just took a little 6000mAh battery bank and that kept the phone going 👍. Thanks for your comment, I really appreciate it!

@@SeekAdventure Just revisiting this video. If your thinking of using your phone more to add to the overall content of episodes, maybe try an app like FiLMic Pro if you aren't already to lock in the frame rate. I've just been through the stock camera app on my Samsung but unless the camera is set at "FHD (60fps) 1080" or "UHD (60fps) 4k" I have no idea what the frame rate would be or if it varies for the other settings. Keep the great videos coming.

@DarxusC
@DarxusC 4 жыл бұрын
@@DanielKE7UUM That's very worth checking. It may very well be that the write speed of what he's writing to is lower than the bit rate of the video camera. (That was something I checked carefully when buying my SD card, and I've had great success recording up to 4k. Although for me it's usually more worthwhile to drop to 1080p and have video stabilization.)

Like Submerged Melon said, picture quality was good but for some reason the frame rate suffered at some points. If you're recording to an SD card you might need a higher quality one or change the settings to save to SD card. Don't know if you used an external microphone but the audio sounded great, which to me is the no.1 factor in making or breaking a video. Great work!
@SeekAdventure
@SeekAdventure 5 жыл бұрын
Hi Ian, it was recording straight to the phone's memory, so that shouldn't be a problem. I couldn't believe how all over the place the frame rate was when I was editing it, never seen anything like it! Thank goodness the external mic was working well, otherwise this project probably would have ended up in the bin 😂. Thanks for the comment Ian 🙂

Great video..good on you for doing a walking video, makes a nice change. I was going to complement you on your use of a small fire until I saw that massive big log on later. So many campers have big fires that are unwarranted, and it consumes way too much wood. Dead wood lying on the forest floor provides lots of homes and cover for small animals so try and keep your fires small.

Those tents are awesome but definitely go for the 'upgraded' version as it has a bit more room & apparently better ventilation. I went for the 2 person version as it's only about 100g difference & the extra space for gear or just for comfort in poor weather on long hikes is well worth it 👍
