More like a multiband transient shaper but with the algorithm they used for soothe. Actually, it's more than that. In multiband dynamics, the bands are fixed whereas in this, the bands move intelligently and they act closer to a dynamic EQ than a multiband compressor. There's no crossovers.

Soothe is a total must-have, there’s a reason everyone is crazy about it. Huge time-saver; all that time with narrow dynamic EQ bands, notching out problem frequencies in localized audio regions, huge headache. Spiff, i’ve been using he Neutron transient shaper, which gives you multiple bands… but after seeing this, seems like Spiff might be another good tool for that.

Oeksound is a very small company with only 2 plug ins. Your original comment, which you edited, talked abut Plug In Alliance who have 100's and 100's of plug ns going a bigger discount. To a small company of a handful of people with 2 plug ins they can't devalue their products, then people will only buy during sales. Large companies can discount certain products massively that aren't selling.

Off topic (sorry): Why not make a video about what NOT to do in a recording studio and other things; for example placing coffee cups on or near a mixing desk, cellphone use, proper storage of cables and so on... There's so much that can go wrong, and it can be really expensive... haha... well... just a suggestion in case you are running out of things to talk about (probably not), haha... I learned a lot in my younger days when I first started to work in recording studios and also on television, about 35 years ago... The damage some coffee, or even worse Coca Cola, can do to gear, oh man.... Keep the videos coming!!

Just basic thing, in life it never is a good idea to put one thing on everything, that’s first you know for yourself. Concerning plugins you already know, best plugin is no using any plugin at all. If you ask me Isotope ozone helped me to put out fast a quick dirty mix for demo purposes. Plugins saving time are useful in general. What specific plugin that is depends on your personal creative workflow ;

@@weschilton I believe it aside from EQ you are zoning into what harmonics to bring out or cut.
@a-job7276
@a-job7276 2 жыл бұрын
In principle I imagine that the main difference is the bands, but I would like a comparison video, what advantages or uses it has, why it is more convenient to use it. Surely you already know Pitch Tracking with dynamic EQ, there are a few plugins that do this, like MAutodynamicEQ, which also allows you to adjust what happens with the harmonics. Another very "Pro" dynamic EQ is TBProAudio DSEQ, which they call "Dynamic Spectral Equalizer". I wonder if what becomes standard is because it is also easy to use or has a very short learning curve, what Melda does is very... deep, many options. Another case is the "Spectral Compressors", such as Sonible smartComp and MSpectralDynamics, which have many bands and many things can be done, that may be the problem, that it is not for a specific thing, I don't know. Of course there's also Oeksound Soothe, but they say it's a resonance suppressor, so isn't it a spectral compressor? All of these can work as De-esser. But how easy is it to attenuate resonances? One that I would like to see in the comparison is another transient EQ, if that's what it is... also from Sonible, the entropyEQ. And where does Denise Dragon Fire come in? What the hell is a tonal compressor? and now comes Baby Audio Smooth Operator, which says "combines equalization, spectral compression and resonance suppression". It is to go crazy.

@@artale4404 Thanks for the comment, I should definitely try and study them, but I am not an engineer or a professional, and the opinion and advice of audio professionals is always important. It is clear that it is a promotional video, the most important part is that it says that it has become a standard. The amount of plugins that mix engineers have to buy is to cry... Marketing on KZbin is very strong, apart from known websites.

Soothe must be on a marketing kick or something. I’ve seen numerous videos released at almost the exact same time promoting it and it’s definitely not a new plugin.

The drums and voice sound so digital and the opposite of sweet and yummy , just plain gross sounding and yuk . Thanks for nothing , digital recording and plug ins . Lastly thanks for nothing to producers who have fell into digital recording and productions . Us music lovers dislike this digital , artifact sounding records so much it leaves a fake saccharine taste in our mouths . Yuk again.

Please let us hear your mixes! The people I know who love this ares me of the best in the business, would love to hear what you do! When using a plug in like this you have to know what you're listening for and identify what frequency transient you want to increase. Without a good ear this will do the opposite of what you want! I was turned onto Oeksound because the most analog and organic mixers I know used their plug ins.

Absolutely hate this. In a few more years, you can just type text in your plug-in, select male or female vocals, select the key, chose a singing style and *poof*... out comes the vocals. All this hyper-correcting is losing the character and essence of music. Its why almost everything released today sounds the same. Imperfect is perfect. This is just fake music. This is why so many new musicians emphasize "the show" when live, because they aren't very good live. Its why I have seen so many major blunders in live shows when auto-tune fails, or pre-recorded lip-sinking fails, or yada, yada, yada. Milli Vanilli was mocked for their lip-sinking. Years later, its the norm. You can keep your Spif. Would rather hear actual singing and all its imperfections,. No thanks. BTW: Any real singer wouldn't want this. Its all about those that aren't that good... isn't it? Answer: yes.
