Thank you for your info. Very interesting. I gather some lichen in the Cascade mountains of Oregon. I chopped it,and cooked it, strained and dyed wool and it took your color yellow. Mine also to seem color fast. It became more yellow while drying. With a iron wash it has a more greenish tint.

Hi Ali, thanks for sharing your dye notes! I will have to try the iron rinse on some of my colors and see how they change.

Hi Sarah, many thanks for your video. We have just had Storm Francis pass, and so many trees had branches broken off in the countryside around me. While out walking today I picked up a few of them and am now researching what to do. Would just like to know do I let dry out the twigs/small branches and scrape off the lichen? What did you do with the small piece of bark you showed? Many thanks :-)

I have a 9 month dye, what do I do now? I’m wanting to dye some cotton t-shirts.
