In the inaugural episode of our documentary series, we delve into the compelling narratives of five individuals who made the life-altering decision to leave Nigeria. Great stuff! My relocation story has a few chapters that started off with me being at the center and ended with future financial capacity considerations at the end. After leaving LASU, I vowed I would never do my Masters in Nigeria, so I gunned for the UK but stopped when I realized I wouldn't be able to stay back after studies (I saw no point in making the journey if I wouldn't have the luxury of some choices at the end). Fast forward a few years later and my colleague at work told me about the Canadian Federal Skilled Workers Program, unfortunately, it was ending and Express Entry was starting. With no Masters degree, my wife and I had low points which meant a long time on the queue as we had no relatives in Canada. Then we had our first son and I started thinking about the kind of life I wanted for him and his siblings, and more importantly, if I would be able to afford that lifestyle for them in Nigeria. I did some research and got some information from a friend. Left Nigeria for Germany to do my Masters in 2015 and I can say we all have ZERO regret.

I remember the story of the lady who had the accident with a container( via a newspaper). Recently when my HR told me i was not sacrificing enough and that she does not appreciate my effort. This is when you sacrifice to give your client the best. Although she later apologised but right there i did what a man got to do

This is so good kept me glued. Short precise and nice. As a Nigerian still in Nigeria who still complains everyday 😂 the situation is bad but i don't think its all rosy there too we still watch the news and hear of devastating things over there but ours is more as a result of negligence and bad government but my prayer is we should be where we ought to be per time and flourish anywhere we are......

I don't think I've ever commented on your video but I absolutely love this docuseries so I'm sharing my experience. I was working in one of the big Nigerian banks. There was this auditor who was a great soul. Cheerful, helpful, gentle, not 'out to get you'...One morning, we were told he died in an accident on his way to a conference organized by the same bank. My colleagues were bawling their eyes out. Me, hard girl... I was shaking on the inside. My boss said.. His chapter has closed. Let's open to customers. Not one second of silence. Nothing. Nobody was normal, but we still worked that day like nothing happened. From that day I started to wonder whether it was the same everywhere. I decided to go see. Japad in 2022. It hasn't been easy but at least I know if someone dies, I don't have to act like it is business as usual.

Creatives 👏 fun👏👏 content 👏👏 that’s what both of you bring here, but you see this documentary it’s on another level, everything from the editing, lighting, position and most importantly the people and the content is top notch this topic hits home especially end sars, man no man to get a job, degrading one’s ability to do a job because you think the person is nothing.. Above all Nigeria is a great country!!! Nigerians are great people!!!! But our GOVERNMENT/PEOPLE actually needs to do better!!!😢 Can’t wait for the rest of this documentary!!!! Toyosi's japa argument is strong only for someone who relocates from Nigeria and goes to such places as Canada instead of such places as the United States where the rate of gun violence is high. Someone could get shot on the streets of several American towns and cities as well.

The reason why life is easier abroad is because the slaves + citizens built it. Canada, the beautiful railway were built by the Chinese, and many of them lost their lives. America black slaves built it. The moral of the story is that in order to better our native countries, we must be willing to have a revolution and also be willing to die for it so the future generations can have a better place to live. If all the well-off people relocate, what about the poorest of the poorest, who can not leave, what will happen to them? who will advocate for them? its the people (citizens +slaves) who built these countries. Its not their leaders but the people. Once we the people realize that we can have a revolution like France and overthrow our leaders, it will change a lot. Every country has their flaws its just right now that our flaws include not having the basic necessities. I am not against anyone relocating as i am a child of immigrants myself. For those of us abroad, we can go back and build jobs, not just schools. People need jobs, invest in building the roads, and improve our water system or whatever that we can do to help support our countries. We already have enough schools, churches, and houses. Right now, people need employment and security. Do not just blame the president lets take matters into our own hands.
