Really enjoyed this video, great tips. We converted our toliet to composting and it made a huge difference in water management. We have 35 gallons of fresh and have gone as long at 16 days without having to dump or add additional water. You mentioned reusing the boiling water, perviously we would use to the to flush the toliet since the gray usually fills quicker than black in most rvs. If you end up in Yuma area on your Mexican adventure this winter let us know.- Kyle and Michelle.

Awesome, we definitely will! We've seen the composting toilets and they are very interesting. Did you then connect the grey and black tanks to gain even more wastewater capacity?

@@HomeARoam exactly, we route the liquids into the black so that we don't have to mess with a pee jug, and we then added a valve to the end of the dump line so that we can open both gray and black to combine them together. That gives us 60 gallons of gray since urine is not considered sewage by itself.

Great tips! We do most of these also. It’s fun to make a game of it and see how far we can go. Definitely more so now that we’re down here in baja. Another thing we do sometimes is if we have leftovers we will put them in Tupperware but we’ll line the Tupperware with tin foil first so it doesn’t get dirty. Easier clean up afterwards

That's a great idea! Less dishes = less water. We will definitely be trying that one, thanks!

Great tips! Saving water in our SUV camper is super important too. We find that using wash clothes to clean ourselves and sponges to do the dishes really helps us!

Sponges would be good, they hold a lot of water 💦

I also use a blue boy but the only problem is that it is very bulky in the back of the truck.

Yes, they do take up quite a bit of space. We know some people who use water bladders that pack down small when not in use. They're a good option too.

Great ideas, thanks. But you are sure you’re not getting that “so-so” water in your mouth when showering? We prefer to always use good water in the system.
@HomeARoam Жыл бұрын
That's a good point. It really depends on where we are and what's available. In BC we typically use tap water because our tap water is some of the best in the world. When we went to some of the states, tap water was still safe, but not necessarily tasty for drinking, so we were still comfortable using it in the system. However, when we went to Baja we only used purified water in the system because the tap water isn't typically that safe.

Great tips! Can I ask what kind of epilator that you have found that works? I’d like to try one.

Hi! I have the Braun Silk épil 9. I like it because it has an interchangeable heads for epilator and electric razor, which was especially useful when I was just getting used to epilating and couldn't tolerate both legs in one session.

Great timely lessons for water preservation while travelling and especially at home! Also, if news anchors can show their coffee mugs on set so can you!
