Lingard is done, sorry to say anyone who thinks he *might* come good. His half season on loan at West Ham, THAT was the coming of Lingard. It could have turned into the age of Lingard, but he went back to a place where he was just comfortable to be associated with the Man Utd clout. Then after that sucked the verve from his game he went to Forest for a pay day thinking he could just hang about and the worst that could happen to him was becoming a sometimes stand-out performer in an uninspiring team. He didn't bring his working boots though and that was a summer of mass recruitment and most of them, they brought their working boots. So he went from being the likely star of a struggling team to a player who deservedly didn't get a look-in because he wasn't as enthused as several people, even the notoriously attitudinal Serge Aurier who became a fan favourite. The age of Lingard lasted about 4 months, but that was the point where it all could have blasted off. The hardest thing for a player is "making a breakthrough", he did it but he didn't care about his on-pitch career after, rotting in the reserves with banished lads like Pogba and Jones was decided to be better than a football career that found its spark.

Personally, i think Lingard should sign with Luton for cheap and bust his ass until January. He (should) have something to prove this year after crapping the bed for Nottingham.
