I can't get over how this introduction for a character was the most bombastic we've had so far: Piranha plant just kinda walked in Joker invaded the awards and summoned Arsene Hero rode in on a horse, as the other heroes all showed up when he failed Banjo did a fake-out Terry grabbed the invite when no one was looking. Byleth was teleported there by what's-her-face Min-min was in the middle of a shift Steve dug a hole and left like 5 seconds later... Sephiroth doesn't even appear until you see Galeem, the Final boss, A literal Biblically Accurate Angel of lovecraftian strength and form, get cleaved in half like soft butter, as the one winged angel descends and proceeds to destroy everyone. He even uses Fearmongering on Mario to assert dominance. Majestic... Pure hype.

There's an undercurrent of panic and desperation in this rendition of One Winged Angel that's perfect for the situation it plays in. For people new to the series, it's from being thrown into another fight(initially one on one, even) after the gauntlet the Whispers put you through. For veterans who played the original, it's a 'holy shit no no no we haven't even left Midgar we are NOT READY FOR SEPHIROTH' moment. And I can't wait for MORE versions of One Winged Angel in the next games.

To be fairly honest in the last hours of the game I started to think what was happening with the pace of the game and then in the last chapter they started talking about changing fate and I was holding to my seat not wanting this to happen, but well, seems like they wanted to give an ending to one of the parts even if it doesn't really make much sense.

This One Winged Angel and the Remake's J-E-N-O-V-A both seem to portray this. What really sells this for me though is the fact we get to fight the actual Sephiroth, you know? My biggest gripe in the original is how they show Sephiroth as this soldier-that's-not-actually-soldier with a long sword, but unless you count that final battle with Cloud, we never get to face Sephiroth's "human" form.

The two fights that's ever gave me any issue is Very Hard mode Giga Little Mac on the final map on an All Sephiroth mode. Mostly because of perfect play AI that's not only giant, but has super armor on stamina mode. Have to play keep away and constantly get those shadow flares orbiting him. The other issue-fight is trying for a no-death run on the Final Battle, and that's really RNGesus when Galeem and Dharkon enter their phase two mode and some of their attacks when put together cover the screen with hard hitting crap that's hard to Ultra Instinct around.

@@ethanedwards3357 Oh I know, it's only on the highest difficulty when both enter their phase 2 mode after they lose half their health (You'll know it when one goes to the background and visually goes berserk) when their attacks become screen-covering SPAM and it becomes a rush to get rid of them before the damage gets too high. Getting nailed by Galeem's Off-Waves while stuck in a Time-Slowing Red Rift by Dharkon, for example. This is all for a no-death run with Serpie only, though. Having three characters to use at the final battle makes it quite easy.

Idea for a reveal trailer: Cloud is fighting Bowser and Ganondorf in a burning battlefield. Cloud begins to get overwhelmed, but quickly starts to get the upper hand. As he prepares a finishing blow, a figure rushes past them, faster than the eye can see. Bowser and Ganondorf barely have time to register as mutliple slash animations are seen, and they fall to the ground, KOed. As a single black feather slowly falls towards the ground Cloud has a look of absolute terror on his face. A figure behind him begins to rise, back turned to the camera. The figure then quickly turns around to reveal a man of angelic beauty. The man raises a ridiculously long nodachi towards Cloud as the title card flashes on the screen: Sephiroth descends into Smash! After various cutscenes showing off his moveset of the villains of smash (maybe along with some heroes including Zelda), Sephiroth uses Supernova on Cloud, KOing him. The logo for Smash Ultimate flashes, and the camera cuts to Cloud at Sephiroth's feet while fire burns in the background. Sephiroth then looks up, mimicking the famous Destruction of Nibelheim scene.

Here‘s an interesting fact that most people either don‘t know or tend to forget: Cloud was the most difficult character to get in Smash Ultimate. People over at Square Enix told Sakurai that they would allow Cloud to be in Sm4sh, but they were *very* hesitant to give him away for Ultimate too. Sakurai admitted that he had to pull some of his strings to get Cloud back in the game because it would‘ve been impossible otherwise. So if anyone goes and asks for other FF characters to be in smash again, the chances are almost non existent for that to happen.

Sephiroth Smash moveset ( FF7 spoiler alert ) Stage entrance Sephiroth has his wing out and lowers onto the ground and then raises his sword Movement When facing away from an opponent, Sephiroth will stand normally holding his sword backwards in his hand but when facing his opponent, he will turn his sword around and hold it up to his face just like he does in combat. ( to better picture it, think of Sephiroths stance at the end of FF7 ) however if you turn around, he will wait 7 seconds before going back into his “ facing away “ animation. His walk is him walking threateningly ( similar to the Black Knight assist trophy but faster ). His dash is him gliding ( just like Cloud ). Attacks Jab: Single horizontal but slightly tilted sword swipe ( 13% ) Forward Tilt: A straight sword poke ( 15.9% ) Down tilt: A sword swipe while it also scrapes the ground making electric shocks, therefore the sweetspot being considered and electric attack. The edge of Sephiroth’s sword knocks opponents off their feet ( just like brawl tripping ). Sour spot ( 5.1% ) sweetspot ( 16.3% ) Dash attack: A strong horizontal sword swipe ( 21.4% ). Aerials Neutral air: A half circle sword swing ( just like Cloud and Ike ) ( 10.2% ) Forward air: A 3 hit combo where the first 2 hits are sideways ( basically spelling an X with the sword ) and the 3rd hit is a horizontal sword strike ( 16.7% ) Back air: A sword poke ( think Byleth back-air ) ( 14.8% ) Up air: 3 sword swipes ( like Duck Hunt’s up air but with a sword ) ( 13.6% ) Down air: Hell’s gate ( aka the Aerith killer ), has a sweet spot hitbox similar to Ridley’s down-B where he stabs the opponent and then takes his sword out. If the opponent is hit in the air, the move will spike but the sour spot is anywhere but the tip of Sephiroth’s sword. Sour spot ( 7.2% ) Sweetspot ( 35.7% ) Grabs Sephiroth stabs the opponent with his sword and picking them up just like how he did to Cloud in FF7. However, the sword does not penetrate through the opponent due to the game rating, it only stick into the opponent slightly. Pummel: Hits the opponent down against the ground ( 2.2% ) Forward throw: Sephiroth thrusts his arm back and then forward ( 11.3% ) Up throw: Tosses the opponent upwards ( 11.4% ) Back throw: Swings the opponent backwards ( furthest launching of all his throws ) ( 12.7% ) Down throw: Slams the opponent onto the ground ( 15.6% ) Specials Side-B: Octaslash, functions similarly to Marth’s dancing blade but this move must be pressed 8 times ( 8 hence the name “ octa “ and has to hit the opponent just like Cloud’s crosslash ), the 8th hit is the most powerful hit ( 13% ) but if all hits connect it does a total of 38% damage. Up-B: Aeolian Onslaught, a 2 button move just like Clouds Climhazzard. The first hit functions like Marth’s up-B but does not reach as high due to the length of Sephiroths sword for balancing reasons. The 2nd part of the move will have Sephiroth coming back down with the sword positioned horizontally ( just think Shulk’s side-B ) and any opponent caught underneath will be spiked. Just like Cloud’s up-B, make sure not to press it twice offstage. The first hit does 20.2% damage and the 2nd hit does 26.4% therefore making the move do a total of 46.6%. Back-B: Fervent blow, a backwards Version of Clouds Neutral B. ( Same amount of damage as Clouds Neutral B ) the back-b input is inspired by Terry Neutral B: Black Materia, the hardest move to pull off in the game. Think of having to fully charge Roy/Chroms neutral B without being interrupted by attacks but five times. The move requires to be charged up 5 times and after that, a meteor will hit the middle of the stage thus automatically killing anyone caught in it regardless of percentage. Shield does not work on this move. ( 100% damage ) ( during the animation of the move, the 5 4 3 2 1 will each appear individually at the top of the screen in the same way the “ Omnislash “ text does at the start of Clouds final smash ) Down B: Manipulate, Sephiroth will send out a small glowing dot ( Just like mii gunner’s side-B to tell where the manipulation is ) and the way the manipulation works is just like Zelda’s side B. Anyone caught by the Manipulation will be briefly but fully controlled controlled by Sephiroth as if you switched characters mid-game and he can make them purposely jump offstage and die. Sephiroth is not invincible during the move and can be interrupted. If interrupted, the manipulation will end and give the opponent back control of their character. However, you don’t have to worry about interruption in 1-1 matches. How long the manipulation lasts depends on the amount of damage the opponent has. Just like Mewtwo’s down B or Bayonetta’s down B. The move can be shielded Smash attacks Forward smash: Telluric Fury, thrusts slightly forward and then slashing the opponent twice ( 28.3% ) Up smash: 3 upwards slashes ( 23.7% ) Down smash: Shadow Flare, stuns enemies in front and behind Sephiroth just like Zero Suit Samus’s down smash ( 16.4% ) Final Smash: Supernova, just like the move in the game. The equations calculating the comet hitting the sun appear and anyone over 100% damage is automatically KO’d Special mechanic: Just like Lucario getting stronger from taking damage and Terry’s Go! meter, When Sephiroth is over 100% in damage, he brings his wing out ( hence why he’s the “ One winged angel “ ) and his up B changes to where he flies upwards and if attacked, he automatically slashes the opponent while still continuing flying upwards. This could be considered the first “ super armor “ attack if you don’t count Incineroar’s revenge, but is vulnerable once in free fall. As for all his other moves, they gain an extra boost in damage and Sephiroth’s dash changes to him using his wing to glide. Sephiroth’s moves are powerful but slow for balancing reasons. If you can’t tell already, he is my most wanted villain for smash but likely won’t happen due to Square’s stinginess with licensing. Taunts 1: Swings his sword back and says “ traitor “ 2: swings his sword downwards with wind blowing on him ( just like Ike’s taunts ) and says “ pathetic “ 3: Holds his sword up to his face just like in his battle stance and says “ To the promised land “ Stage Edge of Creation: An outer-space like paradox/realm where Cloud arrives at to defeat Sephiroth. Stage comes from Final Fantasy 7 Remake. Voice clips KO screams 1: An angry grunt 2: “ I will prevail..... “ Star KO: “ I will never end “ Screen KO: A shocked face with him lighting up and disintegrating just like at the end of FF7. ( the blood would not be included for obvious reasons ) Other animations Just like Terry. If Sephiroth let’s go if shield, he can attack immediately with a sword swipe ( 15.8% ) Get up attacks Face up: pokes sword the way his head is facing and the gets up and swings the other way. First hit ( 9% ) 2nd hit ( 12.3% ) Face down: Swings sword both ways. Both hits deal ( 13.6% ) Ledge attack: Swings sword scraping it against the ground ( just like his down tilt I made up earlier ). The sweetspot knocks opponents back and the sour spot ( the tip of the sword ) trips opponents. Sweetspot ( 14.8% ) sourspot ( 7.4% ) Drowning animation: I’ve never seen Sephiroth in water so he’ll struggle and just sink down like every other character. Balancing: balances on one foot at the ledge Dizzy: His hand is on his face and is stepping back and forth trying to regain focus. Sleeping: Crouches down and falls asleep Victory screens: 1: Sephiroth is floating in mid-air with one wing and says “ I will never be a memory “ just like in Final Fantasy 7: Advent Children 2: Sandbag is in the middle of the screen as Sephiroth falls down and uses “ Hell’s Gate “ on it and then the camera zooms in on Sephiroth. 3: Sephiroth is in his Safer Sephiroth form and all the party members from Final Fantasy 7 are laying there defeated with the camera panning the scene and zooms in on Sephiroth. ( sort of like how Mario appears in one of Piranha Plants victory screens and gets bit away ). No contest/losing: He looks away in disappointment not even clapping. Kirby copy ability: Kirby gains Sephiroth’s hair as well as his neutral b, Black Materia ( as mentioned and explained earlier )

PootOs Gaming I’d say probably 2 hours. I was bored at work one day and thought to myself since I played FF7 recently and Sephiroth is my most wanted villain ( the roster needs more villains ) and why not make a move set. One can only hope it actually happens and turns out like this

Just as they get ready to charge again... A single black feather floats past them. Both confused at the sight, the lighting darkens and a strange, orange glow lights their backs. Both evil kings turn and their eyes go wide at the fiery Smash logo in the distance. The camera pans in on it...and doesn't stop. There, amid the fire, is a sole figure. The figure looks up, then strides toward the two with an impossibly long katana in hand. One-Winged Angel suddenly begins playing. *SEPHIROTH BRINGS CALAMITY!*
