I have suffered from bouts of severe depression all my life. I've been on 20 mg. of Ciprelex for 8 years. In January of 2020, I weaned off over a four month period. I'm now 4 months off & I'm in Severe depression & Anxiety. I'm wondering how I would know if I have relapsed, or if this could be a withdrawal symptom? How can I tell? Please help! Hey dude. I'm going through the same shit. Was on prozac/citalopram for about 7 yrs. Now off 13 months. Emotional turmoil and sever fatigue is an understatement. Also developed breathing issues which began days after quitting. Suicidal thoughts are relentless. I honestly thought after a year I'd be back to normal. Somehow I feel like this is permanent.....it is insane what these companies get away with. We live in a sad,sad world. Anyways. Let s hope time will heal all. Until then, all the best my dude

You will recover man it's just a matter of time, only TIME, so don't stress about it remember always it's not You !, it's your body that reacts, so stop blaming yourself, it's just like a temporary illness, don't confuse psychological problems and withdrawal! Please! You're going through withdrawal it's only temporary your symptoms are very standard for withdrawal, you're not going crazy and you're not mentally ill, your body and mind were thrown into wack by those drugs, it's not normal what you're experiencing, don't attach yourself emotionally to it , and don't identify as it , its simply the withdrawal and the drugs damage, but, it's only a matter of time until you'll be yourself again healthy in mind and body, so please don't attach to it, view it as an temporary illness, not mental!, but physical one!. It take time for your body to recover and your mind will play tricks on you, a year and a half, is still early for you , but in a matter of time you'll be there , just please do not identify with it anymore, join us a surviving antidepressants. Hope all is good dude. Im approaching 9 months off of antidepressants. I still have a lot of ocd intrusive thoughts that are really debilitating. My cognitive abilities are still gone and I am waiting for them to return. Does your cognition come back? Does your ambition and optimism come back? I am wanting to return to my goals that i had 10 years ago before I started the ssris but I feel like my brain is fried. So I'm hoping my brain comes back, but idk if it ever will?

I’m numb emotion wise can’t feel joy or excitement only sadness anger and emptiness. Did you have this problem too? I want to come back. I’ve been having issues eating food because of histamine now. This sucks freaking bad 19 months out now.

Hey man I need a little motivation and help. I have been off ssri for 6 months and feel so mentally disabled. I can't focus to have a job. I have low self esteem. How long did it take for you to see somewhat a difference? I was on them for 10 years.

Joe Bejarano hey man I know what you’re going through. In my earlier videos when I was in my first 6 months I was in agony and I was basically couch or bed ridden. I couldn’t maintain daily functions from showering to teeth brushing let alone have a job. Withdrawal is harsh and it’s a patient process. In my other videos I have a link to Dr. Breggins and Laura Delano’s videos they talk about this topic from a professional stand point whereas I am telling my own personal experience. I understand feeling disabled everything from speech to getting up is a chore during this time. Just drink a lot of water, get exercise even if you have to force yourself! And sunlight for at least 20 minutes. You’ll be okay. Stay strong Joe.

Joe Bejarano i think the best think is to not take anything while you’re trying to cleanse your body of of those toxins. But whatever you feel is best. I feel more myself and less heavy and the glimpses of my old self have started to show more strong then the depressive side. It’s still a struggle and journey.

I'll add that the best course of action is to sya to yourself okay I'm temporarily not myself I'm ill right now I'm going through maintenance, so I'm not expecting anything for this couple of years, I'm not blaming myslef, nor criticizing! I'll be myslef in a matter of time its uncomfortable and a painfully unhuman torture, but the tricky part is the emotional spirals, your mind and body is out of whack, and it nearly impossible to reason with it and fell and think clearly about anything, so you'll feel like a tragedy every day and your life will seem like a failure, but it's not you dude its those drugs, that throw you out of whack, so please stop identifying with it don't bite to any thought or feeling that tell you otherwise it's just temporary ant its not you, that's the hardest part not identifying with it ,but if you do, it will be a lot easier ride, it's just temporary, don't make any assumptions or decisions for now until you'll feel like you're now longer in withdrawal! It's simple as that, it's like being drunk, exactly like it, you don't make decisions when you're not sober, it's not you! Everybody thinks you stop the drugs and returns to your old self in an instant, No, you stop it and then you go couple of years not feeling like yourself, but soon enough you'll be back to your old self healthy, now you not there yet, so don't stress about it man (:

Hello 👋 my first year off was the most difficult experience of my life. Including all my trauma and abuse. It was an out of body experience. However it has been 2 years and almost 6 months and I can say I am finally feeling joy and happiness but it’s a journey most of the second year I was numb. I am not trying to hurt your feelings or give false hope. I am just saying what the reality was for me. I am doing an update video in three weeks for the 2 1/2 year mark.
