ONE YEAR LATER - Is The Pokemon Charizard UPC Actually WORTH IT???

I remember ordering the Charizard UPC from Best Buy on release day last year, I had saved up rewards points for months in anticipation and got mine discounted to about $47. Did the same for the 151 UPC this year and planned ahead for even longer, got it for about $6.

I waited until the second print wave saturated the market and lowered prices to buy a box to open and a case of them to hold long term 😁

These are great. It's pretty insane how quickly sentiment turned when people found out they were printed into the ground. It went from "Product of the year!!!" To "Meh, these things aren't worth it" almost overnight. I think they're great for both ripping now or holding long-term if you can still land some under $100. The pack selection is phenomenal. Majority of the sets have pretty iconic and desirable chase cards that in the distant future (think kids who grew up w/ S&S getting into their 30s and 40s) people will really want to revisit this set. Sure S&S was printed into the ground for the most part but for the average collector with average funds to throw at the hobby, the big chases were very elusive. Nostalgia is a helluva drug and when the kids now grow up and want to revisit this era again and chase those big hits, this is almost the perfect product to scratch that itch. I think the only thing comparable that came out since the Zard UPC is the reprinted Sam's Club Heavy Hitters boxes. Not the ones out right now but the ones that came out a couple months back. In case anyone didn't know, these no longer contain any ES or CR. Pretty sure they were replaced with BS and AR. Still good, but not as epic as it originally was. The 2022 version was okay but the first wave of the 2023 reprint was just epic.

I preordered one of these from Safari Zone. For $250. Then seeing how much was going to be available (thanks to you Danny) I canceled that preorder and they still charged me like $40 “restock” fee. I haven’t bought from them since then.

Danny, Just wanted to say thank you for all you do. A few months back I was able to get one of the cases of lunchboxes with the silver tempest God packs. I had been over 700 silver tempest packs without an alternate art and the 4th lunchbox I finally pulled one and it was the Lugia to boot. Thanks again for all you do 😊

Average UPC value if you open your cards $55 if you’re lucky. Most people didn’t pull good cards out of these packs in the upc. I only bought them when they were $80 and still lost money lol. I know a lot of other people who opened theirs didn’t get $80 worth of stuff either. These might be better left sealed.
