I have a severe hearing loss and was at first disappointed that there weren't any subtitles to this video but decided to watch your video anyway. I discovered I could follow exactly every word you said all the way through! Not sure if it is the audio quality that is "compatible" with my hearing aids or you have an excellent voice but it worked anyway. :-D

I find it really interesting that you’re watching a video all about changing sound despite having hearing loss. Are you a synth enthusiast? If you are, to what extent can you hear everything? I mean this with no intent of offense, btw. Just curious.
@idj20
@idj20 2 жыл бұрын
@@sonicsupersam7793 That is a good question, I have had 70% hearing loss in both ears from birth (I'm 55) and have worn analogue post aural hearing aids all my life, but they've never been very good at "mimicking normal hearing". But the relatively recent introduction of digital post aural aids is a life changer where they enable me to hear a much wider spectrum of sound. That means I'm discovering new sounds in my Tangerine Dream, Klaus Schulze and Jean Michel Jarre LP & CD albums collection (yes, always have been a fan of synthesizer music). I still rely on subtitles on TV and here on KZbin but thanks to these digital hearing aids, I have found myself being able to follow audio-only with relative ease, like I only need to have the volume quite low on my digital radio to listen to Radio 2 and can easily make out what is being said or played.

The SNES has quite a powerful sound chip, you could probably use them for a really retro self modulating oscillator
@dykodesigns
@dykodesigns 4 жыл бұрын
Yeah, but the SNES spc 700 is mostly a sampling based chip as far as I’m aware. To be fair, it’s probably my least favorite retro soundchip mostly because of how flat it sounds (lack of dynamics). I prefer the classic programmable sound generators and the FM stuff. On the other hand, the SPC 700 has some cool effects built in such as reverb and echo. The SNES under utilised it due to memory constraints with the cartridges.

Edit: One thing I will say is, selling things as a complete kit with all the parts would be more attractive to people, because sourcing things from different places and having multiple small packages coming at you (ooo err) can be a bit of a hassle. Mate you’ve taken me from neglecting my ol Microkorg (it was sat there gathering dust), to buying a Behringer Crave and Cat because of the patching options, and seriously contemplating building a few of your megadrone pcbs/panels so I can fade between chords on them! 20cm does make things way less cramped in terms of pots and laying out surface mount components!
