Some of those mountains are actually 14,000ft. Leadville sits amongst the mighty Sawatch range which has 15 peaks above 14,000 ft. The highest 3 mountains in Colorado.... Elbert, Massive and Harvard are in this mountain range. Really enjoy your videos.

Nice added information! We camped close to Elbert and Massive if I remember correctly.I didn't know there was 15 peaks over 14k in that one range! Leadville is awesome. I love the lush green valleys between the mountains. I bet all those Aspen's are turning gold right now. 👱♂️👩🐕🎾

1. Fly agaric - no no 2. Hawks wing - yum if you find the right ones, otherwise bitter and maybe tummy troubles 3. Coral - sometimes hard to clean but the absolute best for mushroom soup 4. King bolete. STEAK! Super yum!!! 5. Could be a young King bolete - need to see more of the the bottom. 6. No idea, so a "leaverite" (leave 'er right there!) How'd I do? I always keep Boost on hand for flatlanders (and me sometimes!) I also keep a small oximeter on hand to measure oxygen concentration and then use the boost for recovery to a good level. Love Leadville area but a bit crowded for my preference.

This has been an absolutely stellar mushroom year. Perfect combination of rain and warm weather. You hit the season just about at the perfect time. Number 4 is a Bolete, also known as a Porcinni, the underside looks like a sponge on the Bolete edible, if it's got gills like a Portabella it's not the edible variety. The older ones like the one you show may have pinholes and scars on top which are where the flies have layed their eggs and you probably could find maggots inside. The ones that are just breaking up out of the duff are your best bet. Clean the sponge off the underside, slice and saute. Yum!

We are about to go full time and are on the fence between keeping our van that we have only taken on weekends (about the size of yours), versus getting a small RV (25 feet long). 2. Do you all have any kind of cell or signal booster? My husband and I will be working 9-5 hours remotely and internet will be key. I love Leadville and I love that trail. 1. Amanita muscaria-poisonous. 2. Hawks wing- edible. 3. Ramaria largentii- not edible. 4. Leccinum fibrillosum, a Bolete, but not a King Bolete, edible. 5. King bolete- edible. 6. Leccinum insigne, Aspen orang cap, type of Bolete- can cause gastric problems 7. ? Warning, I’m no expert!

You did awesome, Terry!! I think you might be at an expert level. 😀 I picked up 2 new mushroom books and was able to I.d. most of these. 😀🍄

Yes! You got it. Also called a Fly Agaric. It's odd how this mushroom is used in so many cartoons for kids.😜

Game of thrones??? Omg that's almost as boring as watching turtles breed, or m.a.s.h. I think y'all have been nibbling on too many of those wild shrooms lol 😂🤣
