You'd be Tarzan, I'd be more like George of the Jungle...watch out for that tree...splat! Arkansas is my home state and I can tell you there are huge catfish and bass in that river in addition to lots of other wildlife. My dad and I would fish the Arkansas river bottoms, sweet memories. I look forward to your trip through the south with hopes of seeing some of my old stomping grounds. Happy trails!

Soooooo close to 20,000🎉🎊🍹🍷🎊🎉🍹. You have one of the highest ratios of likes compared to amount of views for all the channels I watch. In hundreds of rivers trips in canoes and mostly kayaks I have only had one Snake who insisted on sharing my kayak with me. I really like the map idea with the colors. I will have to steal that one. Looking for your videos are the first thing I do on a Saturday morning. Always a thumbs up 👍

We sure appreciate you introducing us to US Army Corps of Engineers campgrounds. We stayed in two different locations this past weekend on the Snake River in Washington. Both were open parking lots with pit toilets, picnic tables, fire pits, shade shelters, boat launch, garbage cans, and no water; but the locations clearly allowed overnight camping per their website and signage. Nothing fancy and very little privacy, but we arrived after dark and left after breakfast, so it was exactly what we needed and they were free. Thanks for encouraging us to look into COE for camping opportunities. We look forward to gaining new insights from your videos each week.

@@oneadVANtureatatime We were on Lower Granite Lake. It was quiet (except the train at 5:50am, the noise was terrifying because we had no idea what it was) and dark at night, but we saw some American White Pelicans (at least we think that's what they were) on our way out. We were able to catch a glimpse of the WSU crew team and their shells at Wawawai Landing as well as a mini hydroplane do some trial runs. There are other, more private camp spots on the river though.

@@RobandJanCanVan I'm terrified of all snakes and not terribly crazy about spiders - so even though I have a dream of going to Australia one day, those might just hold me back. Atleast with a rattler, there is no doubt whether or not it's actually venomous...LOL. I'm good with bats, but living a place where rabies is not a problem, that might be part of it. I used to be a little hesitant with birds, and then I got chickens...and ducks...and quail...and turkeys....LOL. Needless to say, I'm ok with birds now. I live in Oklahoma and Love it here. Our summers are HOT, but spring and fall ( as brief as they are ) are my fav seasons and fav times to go camping. This place we call the USA is HUGE.....and there is always a place that is not in many peoples minds as in places to camp. I was unaware of this place but I think I will take my family here for a week. How was the cell reception? I work from home and would love to spend a week here just chillin! Thanks!

Love your vids! The "tap" you experienced while on your kayak could have been a gar. Pretty common in the waters of oklahoma. Hope you enjoyed your time in my home state. Stay safe!

A Gar! Right on, I think I have heard of those..their mouth is full of teeth if I remember correctly. We would have never guessed Oklahoma was full of so much wildlife. That was a bird watcher's paradise. It was fun to visit your state! We will be back as we just had some family move there. 😎

Hey Dave & Carrie & Roodle. There are some Army Corp of Engineers in Mississippi @ Alabama. There are plenty of campgrounds. Lots of catfish in the waters there. Gators & snakes in lower Alabama. Be careful. Upper Alabama is awesome around Tuscaloosa.

Thank you, Mary! We are currently camping off the Natchez Trace in Mississippi and have a C.O.E. picked out in Northern Alabama on our way to Tennessee. Not sure if it's near Tuscaloosa, I will have to check. I was wondering about gators and snakes here. 😀😀😀

This is Tullahassee Loop Recreatipn Area. The river is the Verdigris River. The vines are not poison ivy. Poison ivy climbs up tree trunks and has air roots that cling to the bark. You are seeing vines.

My kayak is an inexpensive kayak from Walmart. It is a Lifetime Model. I got this one because it fits perfectly on top of our van and is only 40 pounds. It has a 250 pound limit so Roodle ( our dog) is not able to go kayaking with me.... he is not happy about that! I will get the model number if you are interested😃

@@oneadVANtureatatime Seems to be so hard now since Covid. Everyone is into RV camping. As for free they for the most part do not exist except walmart type deals. There are a few on IOverlander. Your best bet is National Forrest using recreation.gov. The most are on the East side of the park near Cosby TN. 10-12 a night there are some FF sites. Sure wish we could meet up and show you the non tourist places in my park. By now you are gone from TN
