But I guess this only shows the bad effect the news and media have on us - we only get served by media skewed, sensational and pessimistic stuff, but never about places like Tamera or Auroville that successfully function of 40 or 50 years! This is very disruptive work IMO :) + Big kudos for travelling/researching in India at times when virus rates are around 90 000 cases a day there.

The hardest thing mankind will ever do is live in community! I live among an Amish community of about 300 people. Incredible discipline is required to give up your own will for the good of the community BUT the rewards are also great. Peace, security, friendship, stable marriages, great life for kids... lots of good things and a more restricted life with fewer freedoms than most Americans are willing to agree to. Hey Dave, nice video as always! I love Project Kamp because some 11 years ago I watched a documentary called Zeitgeist Moving Forward. It explains that all social problems we have are caused by the way we organize society, whcih is the economic system we use. Which is Capitalism. So to solve those problems we need to build a new model that makes the old one obsolete (as Buckminster Fuller said). But, using computers as an analogy for society, the economic system would be the operating software, the software, the abstract part... and the physical part, the hardware, would be the cities. So to build this new economic system that replaces capitalism by making it obsolete it needs to be a much more advanced system, and such an advanced system can't run on current cities, it's like trying to run Windows 10 in a 1990's Macintosh. So the plan proposed to build this new economic system, the Resource Based Economy, is for us, the people, to unite and build new cities from scratch. Which is exactly what Project Kamp's about. That's why I urge you, specially now that you have been to Auroville, to watch this documentary. Look at the circular shape in Auroville and in the city model presented in the documentary. Here's the link: kzbin.info/www/bejne/aouciImQmcl7b9k

All the business owners/project leaders that you spoke to seem to be male. How is the power divided between the genders? What ate the community's approaches to prevent (different types of) oppression, and in what ways is it succesful?

Doesn’t really feel like its living fully in peace and harmony. But it does also feel most people see it as a goal to work towards. Not sure to be honest about the balance between male/female leaders. But indeed i ended up speaking more with men, which was opposite in Tamera.

That map of india at 0.23 is very wrong. Very very wrong. It has chopped off entire Eastern arm of India. My hometown isn't on your map. Fix it. Also, Auroville is quite rotten at the core. I've been and know people who've lived there and left. There's a lot of infighting . Somehow ego and greed are far stronger than community, compassion and the environment. If you speak up about this, your "maintenance" is held up or you're excommunicated. It is conformity in the worst way. I feel they'll try this in Goa, too. Arambol is riddled with such people. All money. I wish these were done with more kindness and they didn't look down at the natives. I wonder how many Indians hold important positions at that place.

Holy cow, Batman, that "map" looks like a THWAP zzZING sound comment bubble... He visited One part of India for This video. It was Not meant to be a travelogue of the Entire continent, just the part relevant to This visit. How very Spiritual of the inhabitants to be so easy to take offense, at a simple Logistical decision. Although it is obvious how much pride the population at large has in the cleanliness of their roadsides, for a single example of the Many hygienic ...faux pas(?), inherent to the Indian culture. Go ahead, scare off your prospective tourists, by threatening arrest over what is obviously Not a map, but a generalized outline diagram! No roads, only One city dot, no water bodies, and Zero cow representations. Wouldn't surprise me if you think you have a trademark on the word Map, and you'll claim Dave owes a royalty for (incorrectly, but understandably) using the word... Attaboy, Dave (American obscure humor) google it.
@NuthanPrasanna4 жыл бұрын
For that case, why even use a "generalized outline diagram"? Would you accept if someone did the same with your country? Remove 20% of your country and present it to you. Attaboy! There are many alternatives he could have used. If he is that lazy, use an available map, get a vector outline. Only because Indians are peace keepers, the region is running smoothly. The nationalism has come as a result of centuries of oppression from external invaders, unlike a civil war. Few people here keep maps and flags in their homes and offer prayers for it, unlike some countries where they use it as undies. So, stop this misguided narrative. Especially when there is border tensions with 2 not so friendly neighbours. If someone dares, try the same with and enjoy the consequences.

Sorry, forgot to respond to your spiritual reference. Can you please tell where in spirituality does it mention not to "do your duty and leave the result"? Krishna tells Arjuna to fight injustice as a matter of his duty, with no emotional attachment to the outcome. Krishna does not tell Arjuna to sit back and behave like a pseudo peace lover. Sometimes inactions lead to gore consequences for the peace lovers. And spirituality does not mean retrieving to a hippi place and find peace there. Krishna says highest spiritual level is to do one's duty with transcendental mind and not get attached to the result. It is about being peaceful inside while outside one still does her/his duty in the path of dharma. So, sorry to say, again you've been misguided about spirituality.
